"Oh my God!" I squealed as the doctor confirmed everything.
My best friend is pregnant. Monique is pregnant!
"Are you sure? Like... one hundred fucking percent sure?" Monique asked shakily with happy tears in her eyes and he chuckled as he handed her the paperwork, "Ms. Williams, you are one hundred percent pregnant at ten weeks. You can schedule your appointment to fit your own personal schedule with Ms. Marie at the front desk. Here are your ultrasound pictures, you're looking healthy and the heartbeat is perfect."
I looked over at my best friend with tears streaming down both of our faces as she shook hands with the doctor and wiped the cold gel off of her belly, "Thank you so much, Dr. Patty." I hugged her tightly and smiled tightly, "I told you it would work for you. I'm so happy for you, Moe!" She laughed as she wiped her tears, the engagement ring on her finger shining brightly, "At least now I can tell Quentin that our efforts have finally paid off!"
It's been three years since I've had mine and Grayson's daughter, Lilliana. She's a beautiful baby. She's got the most gorgeous curly brown hair I've ever seen, courtesy of Gray. Her eyes are a beautiful dark hazel green almost brown, a combination of both mine and Grayson's eyes. She's a daddy's girl for sure. She helps Jordy and Grayson fix-up project motorcycles all the time, she's daddy's little grease monkey. That's what Gray calls her. Her favorite thing to do is swing on the tire swing with William and make mud pies.
William is the cutest almost five-year-old I've ever seen. He was cursed with my naturally straight hair but it has so much volume that it almost makes up for that fact. His eyes are more green than anything, definitely taking that from Grayson. Unlike Lilliana, he's a mama's boy for sure. He loves cooking with me and playing with Monique's locs. His little sister is his life, he watches over her like his life depends on it.
Right now they're currently on a playdate with Nick's kids, Erica and Jacob. About a month after I had Lilliana, he met a girl and accidentally got her pregnant. They eventually fell in love and had their twins, Erica and Jacob, then they got married. So Nick's wife's name is Cassandra and she's the most beautiful Latina woman I've ever seen. She's sweet to my kids and she takes care of Nick which Monique is thankful for considering that was her job for over twenty years.
Monique met a man by the name of Quentin Sawyer and they fell in love around the same time Nick had gotten Cassandra pregnant. He proposed to her last year and they've been trying to get pregnant ever since with no succession. Until today. Today she finally got what she has been waiting for over a year. And I'm so freaking excited for her, so freaking excited!
After reaching home, I heard my kids outside in the swimming pool along with the sound of Grayson playing Marco Polo with them. I laughed quietly as I rounded to the backyard where Grayson was swimming around with his eyes closed, playing Marco Polo with Lilliana, Erica, William, and Jacob in the shallow end of the pool. Their bright-colored floaties on their arms were clear as day as Cassandra videoed what was happening and Nick was barbecuing hotdogs for the kids. "Hey, Jazzy!" Cassandra smiled as she slipped her phone in her pocket and I sat my purse down as I walked over to her.
"Mama!" Lilliana shrieked as William splashed her and Erica in the face with his water gun and I laughed as I shook my head, "I imagine this has been going on for a while?" Cassandra snorted, "The boys are teaming up against the girls. Whoever Grayson catches first is a point lost for each team apparently." I laughed as Grayson snuck up behind Lilliana, "Marco Polo lost against the girls again!" Erica pouted as she looked at William, "Cheater, cheater! You knew that Lil was gonna scream!" Cassandra laughed as William rolled his eyes and handed the gun to Jacob, "Your turn. Mama can I have dino nuggets?"
"Hey, now, I'm making hotdogs for you guys!" Nick half pouted and William smiled sheepishly, "I can have both?" I chuckled and nodded, "I'll go get it ready for you guys." I kissed Nick's cheek and thanked him for making the hotdogs before returning inside, taking my heels off and placing my purse on the island counter before preparing the dinosaur chicken nuggets in the oven for the kids. I put a couple of smiley face French fries on the pan as well and after it preheated, I stuck it in the oven and placed a timer. Just as I was about to turn around and grab a beer for Nick and Grayson, I felt Gray's hands slip around my hips as he pulled me to his soaking wet swim shorts, "Gray! You're getting me all wet!"
He chuckled as he kissed the crook of my neck, "Let me get you wet another way, Jas." I rolled my eyes and giggled as I kissed his cheek and grabbed the beers out of the fridge, feeling Gray's hand playfully swat my butt. I yelped in surprise and playfully glared at him as he took a sip of beer. He smirked at me and looked me up and down, "You look gorgeous today, by the way. Did today go good?" I smiled and nodded, "She did it, Gray. They're pregnant! Ten weeks." Grayson's face turned shocked and he did a small happy dance before picking me up and taking me into the laundry room, kissing me, "Give her my congratulations when you guys go to dinner tonight, yeah?"
"Grayson, the food-"
"Wanna do a quickie before the dino nuggets get done?" He asked with a smirk and a mischievous glint simmering in his eyes and I laughed, "Hell yeah I do."
