Chapter 15: Today is Yesterday's Tomorrow

Jackson's Perspective
Percy and I were in my dorm. The light creeping in from the curtains. I felt like I was sweating even with only boxers on. Being blinded from the light as I turned to my side. Percy was lying down up to me. His almost child-like face while he was sleeping made him look like a cherub.
You're just so cute!!! Oops! Almost forgot. I placed my heavy headphones on.

After a couple of hours, we got ready to leave. We were going to hang out with everyone again.
     Lightning held Cindy closely while she was on her phone and chewing on bubble gum.
     Caleb, Nox, and Britt, met up with us together. They were talking about something, but stopped when they got closer to us.
     Jack was pulling me close and I could just feel the heat radiating from him. I was so happy... until I looked up. He was panting slightly and looked spent. "L-Lightning. How are y-you able.. to stay cool?"
     "HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! What!? You hot!!?" He just laughed a bit. "My Cypher helps me, but it seems like you need a fur trim...!!! Don't worry!! I know a guy!"
Percy spoke in an innocent tone, "Why didn't you just ask me to cool you off?" I paused, and then felt stupid. "Awwww! It's okay. Just ask."
Oh, so I still have to ask.

     We all went to an amusement park.

     To be honest, there were lots of humans here. Probably because it's so hot!!! Luckily, my little Percy is keeping me cool.~
There was this large Ferris wheel that beckoned the two of us, Lightning, and Cindy. While the others went and bought food and snacks.
They have been acting weird today. Are they hiding something?
After that ride, we had popcorn, hotdogs and the like. Cindy and Percy were only really eating the candy. Lightning was engulfing everything he touched. It was like it never existed, or it had just vanished from plates and wrappings. Candy, hotdogs, ice cream.. he was a beast.
I see that Brittany was frantically scribbling in a mini notepad as Nox and Caleb seemed to be talking about something.
I was so interested. I have to listen in. I lifted one of my hands as if I was leaning my head on it and tugged special headphones slightly.
I was trying to keep it secret so I immediately put them back on after Nox looked up. But I know I heard something about 'Obsidian'. What could they be talking about in secret like this?

I looked at an eating contest within the carnival and had a plan. "Hey Lightning!" He jumped with half a hot dog sticking out his full mouth. "Wanna join that?"
His eyes stopped on the sign I pointed to. "Yeah! I still have plenty of room!"

He hogged down like sixty hot dogs without looking too stressed. He won it by far. And got two large teddy bears.

     Cindy got the black one, while Percy was given the white. Lightning kept a black t-shirt.

     After yesterday, and today, I felt so much better about my brother. I look back on it and cringe. Well.. I guess it's one of those memories.
"Hey, Brittany."
She looked up and fixed her glasses. "What's up?"
"What have you three been hiding?"
She and Nox stiffened up. While Caleb stared in confusion at the two of them regrouping. Before they answered, Caleb jumped in with his flat tone and mischievous face. "Your brother was speaking casually with a demon."
Nox hit him on the head. "We haven't figured out what they were!!"
     I was so lost.
     Brittany sighed and explained, "We followed him yesterday and saw the same kid we thought was a dying spirit in the Other Realm."
     "Yeah, if it was him, it is most likely a demon of some sort."
     "Are you sure he knew what it was!!?" I was desperate, but really thinking and just defending.
     "Most likely, if it was a demon, it was a high ranked one if we couldn't sense it nature." Nox looked uncomfortable and anxious while speaking. "He knew what it was... but it doesn't mean it was a demon!"
What the hell are you doing brother!?

     Percy and I came back to my dorm. "Hey, Jack, are you okay?" His projection was meek at best, it barely registered to my covered ears.
     "Yeah, I'm fine. Just like with me, I'm sure whatever it is, Obsidian knows what he's doing."
     "So you wanna play a game?"
     I rolled my eyes. He's so childish and innocent.. it's adorable.~ "Sigh, what is it this time?"
     "Hmmm. I don't know. A board game.. OR LASER TAG!!!!"
In the dorm..!? Whatever I guess. I see him take out hidden laser guns, in my astonishment, from my closet.

     We were having a blast!!! Get it!? Ha! I'm hilarious!! (He is thinking to himself.)
     We heard this rapid knocking that caused us to spontaneously stop our kid-like actions. "HEY!!! Some of us got stuff to do tomorrow!!!! Keep it quiet!!!"
     We cleaned up while laughing and finally drifted to sleep.
