Chapter 7: Love and Trauma

     You know what I realized? With these, I can just cut the entirety of the parts I hate! 😅 So that's what I'm doing. 😋

Percy's Perspective
I was walking to Jack's dorm. Now that I think of it, the dorms here are different. At SunRain University, the dorms are more like small houses that only few people with certain reasons could get into.
When I walked in, I was immediately tackled and suffocated by a furry behemoth. "Jack..! I can't breathe!" He finally let go and once I regained my composure, he picked me up over his shoulder and marched gleefully to his room. I protested all the way through, but he kept going with a dumb smile.
     I was thrown onto his bed where he hopped right on top of me and his hulking body radiated heat that made me feel safe. He grazed his lips onto mine. He was teasing me, making me go for it. And it worked.
     I couldn't control myself as I pushed myself against him deeply. He made sure to quickly strip us to our underwear without messing up our clothes. That's when I noticed he was commando.

     Right before it went to the next level, he grabbed the back of my head and kissed me again.
     I shuddered. I wasn't in the moment anymore. I struggled and pushed him away. He seemed to be in pain, but also respected me enough to stop his advancements. "W-what's wrong?! Did you not like it!!?" His face turned from pain to panic and disgust at himself so fast, I felt guilty.
     "No no no! It's not you. It's me. Something triggered.. and I couldn't take it."
     "Were you raped!!? Will you tell me! I want to know so I won't do it again!"
     "It's fine. It's happened before. And just like those times I'll just need a little time to ignore it again." I kissed him on the nose as I held in the pain. "I love you. Good night.~"

     After I had turned off the lights, I could feel Jack's eyes on me for about an hour in contemplation of what was going on. He finally fell asleep, and not long after, so did I.

I was in some dark room. There were white lights scattered above. I looked in wonder as I laid on the grassy ground with three other children.
I was in a smaller body as we witnessed multiple lights swoosh past Earth and disappear like magic.
We were all amazed and in a trance. "The night is so beautiful." My friend Levi's eyes sparkled like the lake not far from here, as he looked on above.

I answered him. "Yeah. This might be the only time we ever see something like this." My bright smile seemed permanent to me, like happiness will always come to me.
     "Glad I got to see this with you, even if it will be the only time." His voice carried something heavy even though his face was light and airy.
What do you mean?
     "Hey, Percy!!" It was my friend, Grace. She had dark brown hair that was kept short. She was always smiling from what I could remember. "Me and Gabe will be over at the lake." I nodded as it was nothing. Being 12 years old, they wanted to play over there.
     Levi's face instantly grew closer to mine after they left. I backed up a bit from the suddenness of it.
     "You know, I look up at the stars, and none of them gleam like you."
     "W-what!!!?" I was so confused. My face was burning from that comment. "What are you saying, Levi!!?"
     He grabbed the back of my head and gave me a kiss I'll never forget. "I've always liked you Percy. But I never knew what it meant until recently." He said it so smoothly, like we were in a movie, but it was just us. I was the universe. "Percy, I think I love you."
     I was completely stumped on what to say. He continued, "I will make sure I'm someone who can protect you from anything - everything, no matter what."
     There was a terrible screeching that came from the sky. A black, vulture-like monstrosity, descended like death. Grace and Gabe both ran back to us as it tried to capture us. "It's a monster!!! Help!!"
     We all tried calling out, but help never came.

It all happened so fast. We were running, but it tore Grace apart like a dog does a small animal. It took Gabe next, and after chasing me and Levi, Levi had pushed me into a bush and ran in another direction.
The grotesque bird used its tentacle-like tongue to swallow both of my friends and used one of its claws to trap Levi.
For some reason, I couldn't scream. I was trying my hardest, but no sound. I couldn't move. What's happening!!? Levi was being carried away by the monster.
"Percy!! I will always protect you!!" Tears welled in my eyes amidst my best friend being carried off. "I love you!!!"
I love you too!!

Jackson's Perspective
Percy was squirming and breathing hard in his sleep. Is he having a nightmare? "Percy!!? Percy!? Wake up!!"
When his eyes finally fluttered open, I grabbed onto him with my eyes holding back a flood. I was so scared.
"I'm sorry Jacky. I'm fine now." I looked him straight in the eyes with tears threatening to force their way out.
The guilt on his face told me a lot.
To be honest, I was still naked and feeling awkward after his delicate hand touched mine.

Percy's Perspective
I saw his eyes well up. His fear and sadness was infectious as it seeped into me as well.
That night was amazing, I never knew how passionate Jackson could be... well, actually I did, I guess. 😅

Jackson's Perspective
The next day in class, Percy was unable to go to class due to... personal reasons. 😏 I had to explain this to our friends and teachers. Though the gang were all skeptical, especially Caleb and Brittany.
