First Date

Ruby's P.O.V

Oh my god, Jake just kissed my cheek! 

I was still standing at the front door, the door still open. I quickly snapped out of my daze and closed the door. Then, I went upstairs and changed into my pajamas. I wore my shorts and a white tank top. After I changed, Kim walked into my room.

"Hey," she said, stressing the word, as she sat on my bed.

"Hey," I said, "How was your walk with Jared?" She beamed.

"Amazing," she sighed, contentedly.

"Can you promise me something?" I asked abruptly.

"Do you realize who you're talking to?" I laughed.

"Sorry, anyways . . . I think I like Jake . . ."

"Yeah, I noticed how you looked at him," she said, smiling.

"Oh god, was it that obvious?!"

"No, no. If someone else happened to glance at you, they wouldn't understand, but it's 'cause I know you."

"Thanks, I think." She laughed.

"No problem. Now, tell me what's up."

"Well . . . I don't know. When I opened the door and I saw Jake, I felt this pull towards him. It was weird but at the same time, I felt like Jake is the one. I think I'm going crazy. Am I?"

"Rubes, I wish I could tell you something, but I can't. It's not my secret to tell. I'm pretty sure Jake will tell you once the time is right, but for now, have fun," she said.

"What?" I was so confused.

"Listen, I know that probably didn't make any sense whatsoever, but I promise that Jake will explain everything to you once the time is right."

"Why exactly Jake?"

"I can't really tell you, Rubes. I'm sorry but you'll find out."

"Kim, I am so confused."

"I know, Ruby. I've been there."

"Can you please tell me before I go mad?"

"Rubes, I'm sorry, but I can't," she insisted.

"Ugh. Fine, I guess," I said, giving up.

"Come on, let's go watch a movie," she said, grinning. I laughed.

"Never stop those traditions," I said. We giggled and went back downstairs. Kim put on Inception and we watched it for the rest of the night till we finally fell asleep.

~Next Morning~

I woke up to the sun streaming across my room. I groaned and rolled to the opposite side, away from my balcony. I had forgotten to close the blinds last night. I looked up at the clock, realizing it was eleven already. I jolted out of bed and freshened up.

Suddenly, my phone vibrated. It was Jake.

J: hey be ready in five? I was wondering if u wanted to go out for breakfast

Me: sure! see ya in a few(:

J: can't wait :)

My insides were bursting with joy.

Me: me neither(:

I quickly changed, getting ready. I grabbed my purse, as well.

"Where are you going?" Kim asked as she appeared at my door.

"Jake's coming and he wants to take me out for breakfast," I said, blushing slightly.

"Ooh la la," she teased. I rolled my eyes.
