Ruby’s P.O.V
I groaned as I woke up. I glanced at the clock; it was almost nine. I groaned again. It is so early. I rolled over with the front of my face on my pillow. I sighed. This wasn’t working. I decided to get up. I went into the bathroom and refreshed. I washed my face a couple of times, trying to wake myself up. Afterwards, I went downstairs. Kim’s parents had gone to work. She was probably still sleeping. I decided to eat some cereal. I grabbed the Cinnamon Toast Crunch off the top of the refrigerator and poured it into a bowl. As I ate, I thought about what I could do today. I felt like taking pictures. That was when I realized I never unpacked my camera. I swallowed the rest of my breakfast and ran back upstairs. I looked through my suit cases until I found the one that held my camera.
“Yes!” I whisper-screamed. I took it out of the bag and went downstairs. I looked around the house. I couldn’t find anything to take a picture of. I decided to go outside. I changed into: . After putting my shoes on, I wrote a note telling Momma that I was out taking a walk. I left the house after grabbing my bag and walked into the forest. I looked around and took a couple of snapshots of my surroundings. I walked to my – I mean, Jake and mine’s meadow. I felt peaceful when I had reached there. Everything seemed so calm and quiet. The birds chirped softly, the river flowed delicately, the trees stood majestically. I sighed happily. God I’ve missed this place. I closed my eyes and breathed slowly, taking in the scent of the meadow. I heard a rustling within the woods. My eyes snapped open and I looked around me, suddenly frightened. I looked around anxiously. I decided it was time to go home. I quickly walked back home, checking behind me every few moments. Once I saw the house, I breathed a sigh of relief. I ran the rest of the way back home. I went back into my room and stood in the middle of the room. I put my hands on my hips and made a decision. I decided to unpack and redecorate. An hour later filled with music, I was fully unpacked. All my clothes were in the closet and drawers along with my shoes and accessories. I felt half accomplished. I heard a knock on my door and Kim came in.
“Hey,” I said.
“Hi, I see you’ve got everything in order already,” she said, looking around my room.
“Yup,” I beamed proudly, “All I have left is the decorations.”
“You can do that after breakfast, come on.”
“I already ate though.”
“Well, I don't want to be downstairs by myself.”
“Fine, be there in five minutes. Let me just freshen up.”
“Kay, meet you downstairs.” She left as I went into the bathroom and refreshed. I went back downstairs and heard the TV. Kim was sitting on the couch with a bowl of cereal.
“Hey,” she said as I sat down next to her.
“Hey, what are we doing today?”
“I don't know. I thought maybe we could go out shopping today.”
“Ohmigod, please?” She laughed.
“Okay fine, besides we need to buy clothes for school.”
“Yeah . . . that’s why . . .” She laughed.
“You're such a shopaholic.”
“I know.” We spent a while just chilling until we decided to go. Kim went upstairs to go change. A moment later, the door bell rang. I walked to the door and opened it, a smile spreading across my lips.
“Hey,” Jacob said in his husky voice.
“Hi,” I said.
“Mind if we come in?” We? Oh! I didn’t notice Jared standing next to him.
