"Attention flight passengers!"
Den sighed when she heard the announcement from one of the cabin crews, she's sitting beside the window inside the plane. Tumingin siya sa katabi niyang seat and it's empty. 20 minutes na lang and they'll take off.
Kagabi niya pa iniisip kung dadating ba dapat yung supposedly kasama niya. Looks like hindi.
She sighed again at nagsuot na lang ng earphones.
Short after, the seat beside her is taken. She gulped when she saw Alyssa na mukhang tumakbo at hinihingal pa.
Alyssa looked at her and gave her a small smile.
Den smiled back at inalis yung earphones niya. She wants to ask Ly if she's okay. Pero hindi niya pa alam kung paano.
So, she remained silent, listened to music again and just looked outside the window.
Napatingin na lang ulit siya kay Alyssa when the plane is about to take off.
Ly's eyes are closed, breathing heavily.
"She's still afraid," Den thought. May takot kasi si Ly pag nagte-take off ang eroplano.
"What if it crashes bigla or sumabog while taking off?" Den smiled at the memory when she asked Ly why the latter is afraid of it.
Absentmindedly, Den took Alyssa's hand and held it just like how she always did before. Napadilat si Ly ng mata and looked at their hands. Mukhang nagulat din si Den sa ginawa niya.
"S-sorry," Den said, bibitawan na sana niya yung kamay ni Ly but Ly held it tight.
"Sorry," Ly said, too.
Hindi sure si Den why Ly said that.
When they're already flying, bumitaw din agad si Alyssa. They remained silent all throughout the flight hanggang sa makalapag sila sa destination nila.
Batanes.
"Ly! Seat sale oh!" Den said while looking at her phone, lumapit siya kay Alyssa na busy maglaro ng Animal Crossing.
"San mo na naman gusto pumunta?" Ly asked.
"Batanes!" Den squealed, "kaso next year pa travel dates. Tara? Book na natin ngayon para wala na atrasan."
"Sa lahat ng naging travel natin, Den, parang malabong may aatras?" natatawang tanong ni Ly.
"May point, wait, tingin ako dates," Den said and looked through the available dates, "sakto! May available ng April! Ano? Mag-bu-book na ko ha?"
