"Bye Ji!!" Den shouted at Jia na papasok pa lang sa kotse niya.
"Bye Ate Den!" Jia shouted back and waved her hand, Ly took out her hand sa window and waved goodbye kay Jia.
Pinauna muna nilang makaalis si Jia then the two drove off too.
"Good old days," Den said with a smile on her face.
"Yup," Ly agreed, "grabe Den noh, 4 years na?"
Den nodded, "time really does fucking fly! Parang kahapon lang we complain pa about trainings then ngayon namimiss natin."
"A love-hate relationship, always."
"Pero namiss ko rin 'to," Den said, napatingin si Ly sa kanya.
"Hmm?"
Den giggled, "lagi akong nasa passenger's seat back in college days, di ba."
Ly laughed at the memory, "yup, automatic pag tayo nila Ella magkakasama, backseat agad sila. Kulang na lang lagyan mo ng pangalan yung passenger's seat ng Hyundai at Chevy ko noon."
"Oh well, my throne," pagmamayabang ni Den.
Ly smirked, "no one even dared to take it away from you don't worry."
A smile crept on Den's face while looking at the road outside, Ly took the chance to glance at Den.
Ly shook her head, failing to hide the grin on her face.
"She still has the same effect on me," Ly thought, feeling the familiar feeling— comfort and peace.
"Ly," Den called her.
"Yes?"
"I'm happy."
"Why?"
"I don't know," Den answered, "I just feel happy," the warmth and gentleness in Den's voice filled the car, "maybe from remembering the old times and realizing that you were there in those memories and you are still here with me while we look back at those."
Ly smiled happily, agreeing on what Den said, "I'm happy, too."
"Hmm?" Den mumbled, looking at Ly, tumingin sa kanya si Alyssa and their eyes met, both unconsciously smiled, "bakit?"
"Kasi kasama kita," Ly simply answered.
Den laughed, Ly did the same, too. Nagkatinginan sila habang tumatawa and talked through their eyes, then looked away at the same time, keeping the smile on their faces.
"Ly," Den called Alyssa, almost a whisper, Ly quickly glanced at Den then looked back again on the road, waiting for what Den will say, Den slightly smiled, "I actually like it when the lights reflect through your eyes as we travel the road at night."
"Huh?" Ly asked in confusion.
"I love how you bring warmth to every color, even in black," Den added, "and I like the feeling of having you next to me when we went to roadtrips without any destination, you wanna know why?"
"Why???"
"Kasi alam kong kahit saan ako mapunta, kasama kita," Den stopped for a while, "I don't know," Den chuckled, "it always felt like, with you I can conquer the world."
Ly didn't bother to hide the big smile on her face, napatingin si Den sa kanya and Den understood Ly's smile.
She knew Ly feels the same way.
"If you only know how willing I am to drive for hours just to keep you beside me, Den, just to see how your eyes wonder and how it always has been nothing but warmth and comfort with you," Ly confessed, bringing a comfortable silence between them.
"Is it too much if I want to stay?" Den asked, the car stopped at the red light, giving Ly a chance to look at Den longer.
Ly smiled, "you can always stay. Stay with me."
Ly and Den might have failed to realize it yet but what they have can be compared in having a hot chocolate on a rainy day while listening on the raindrops, with smiles on their faces saying, "this is how I just want it to be."
