"Ly, ly?" Den called out to Alyssa na nagcecellphone.
"Hmm?" Ly answered.
"Are you listening?"
"Huh? Uhm, what was that? Sorry," said Ly.
"Sabi ko, yung sa Sunday, tuloy ba?" Den asked, and sandaling napakunot ng noo si Ly, trying to remember kung may usapan ba sila ni Den, "you forgot?" asked Den, deep inside, nasaktan siya.
"Oh shoot! Yes, yes, uhm, Den, about that..."
"I guess, hindi tuloy?"
"Uh, yes, kasi may appointment kami ni Kiefer that day, very urgent, I forgot to say sayo," sabi ni Ly, wala namang nagawa si Den but to nod, "I'm sorry, Den, resched na lang natin.."
"It's okay, I understand, I can go alone naman, by the way."
"Uhm, you sure?"
"Hmm, it's just books, I can do it alone," sabi ni Den, trying not to sound hurt but it's written all over her face. Sandali silang nanahimik when Ly excused herself to go sa CR.
Naiwan naman si Den, when Ly's phone suddenly beeped, Den looked at it and nakita nyang may text, and it's from Kiefer.
Kiefer: Hahaha! Whatever, Valdez. Clingy mo ha.
"Kaya pala wala sa sarili, may katext," bulong ni Den. She had the feeling of wanting na basahin yung convo but she managed to stop herself. Stop herself from being curious, from interfering with Ly's life and from hurting herself, "Den, besh ka na lang, wala ka nang karapatan," she said to herself.
"Thanks, Ly," sabi ni Den when they arrived at Den's house.
"No problem," sagot ni Ly.
"Uhm---" naputol na yung sasabihin ni Den when Ly's phone rang.
"Hello? Oh bakit?..... Kakahatid ko lang kay Den..... ah sige, sige, I'm on my way, okay.... lol Kief, see you, bye," Den just looked at Ly while talking to Kiefer, and it hurts, and it fuckin' hurts, the way Alyssa smiled, the way Ly's excited on talking with someone, she just wished na sana siya pa rin yung reason.
"Uhm, thank you ulit, Ly, ingat."
"Thanks, Den, see you around," sabi ni Ly, lumabas naman na si Den sa kotse ni Ly and umalis na si Ly.

Den went up to her room and sumalampak sa bed niya. She can't help but to feel bad, bad for herself and bad for the situation she's in.
