Chapter 38: False Happiness

Can you really trust everyone? That's the question you've always asked yourself. Ever since the Killing Game. You didn't trust anyone inside that hell, and you're not planning to. You don't want to feel the same way as inside the Killing Game anymore. You're tired of that. You just wanted a normal life.

"(Y/N)! Are you listening?" Ah, of course, I'm with Maruchi right now... for some reason... "Yes?" I asked as Maruchi sighs. "Anyway, I wanted to say that, the police are close to finding who's the culprit of these cases now. We just needed more evidence to tell that it's them." Maruchi said, flipping through the pages. "Who are you suspecting?" You asked as Maruchi stopped. "Well, I can't tell you now, since we don't know if it's really them or not, but if we're close to it, I'll definitely tell you, (Y/N)." The boy said as you just nodded back.

"It seems like you're not interested in this conversation..." Maruchi sighed as he stack up the files. "I'm... sorry, I'm just feeling off these days, I don't really want to go anywhere anymore..." You said as you rubbed your eyes. "Well, I suggest that you should get some rest, after all, there has been a lot happening. Thank God that I didn't have a roommate, or he'd be super annoyed by me, haha!" Maruchi chuckled slightly, trying to bring up the mood, but it doesn't seems to work.

You got off your chair, and went outside of the office again, wandering around the school. You couldn't help but thinks about the time where you still wanders around the hallway inside that Ultimate Academy. "Oh, hi (Y/N)!" Shuichi greeted as he got closer to me, and hugged me out of nowhere. "I was getting worried! Don't leave me alone again, alright?" The detective stated as you just nod your head slightly.

"Hm? Um... Yeah, of course." You said with a blank tone, and begin to walk with the detective again. You kept walking by the hallways, ignoring people talking, and everything. "Hey (Y/N), are you sure that you're alright?" Shuichi asked as you two finally reaches your dorm room. "I'm fine." You said, and inserted the key to go inside, and closes the door behind you. "If there was something wrong, you can tell me, you know?" Shuichi kept push you, and you just shook your head.

"Please, (Y/N)..." Shuichi said as he walked closer to you. "I said everything is fine, Shuichi..." You mutter as the boy sighs. "Please, I couldn't help you if you kept being like this..." Shuichi said as he cupped both of his palms to your cheek. "Shuichi..." You mutter as you look into his eyes. You could see the emptiness in his eyes, but at the same time, it reflect some emotion, or... love to you. You were unsure how to feel about this...

Shuichi leaned closer to you, and gently placed his lips on yours. For a brief moment, her pulled out. "I-I'm sorry, I'm usually nod like this!" The boy apologized, and turned away from you. While you were standing there with a shocked expression. You never thought that Shuichi would ever do that, and it's really new for you. You're unsure of what to think about this. "Please, just forget about that..." You spoke up, and walked away from the boy, to sit on your bed, and find a new book.

Though you said forget about that kiss, it's even hard for you to do that. You got some kisses from other boys too, but that was Rantaro being flirty, and Kokichi and Maruchi just wanted to comfort you. But this time, Shuichi was going so bold... this is not like him at all... You can't focus on your book, and decides to place it down. Shuichi averted his gaze to you, and you just lay on the bed, doing nothing.

"Was it... too sudden?" Shuichi asked nervously as you looked at him. "I guess you could call it like that... But it... I don't know how to comment about that..." You sighed as Shuichi just looked away from you. "Well, I'll just take a nap..." You sighed as you turn to the window side of the room, not facing Shuichi. You have been missing sleeps, and it's really stressful. But thankfully, you were able to sleep quicker than other days.

But who told you her dreams was calm, and peaceful?

"Why can't you see who did it already?!" A girlie kind of figure said as she puts her hand on her hips. "If you don't want anyone to die... then just use your mind to think who it was already." Another figure said. "I shouldn't have rely on kind of stupid person like you! Jeez, you're even more stupid than I thought." Another girl huffed as she crosses her arms. "Well, I don't think we should push her, besides, she need time to think about it, right?" A male countered as the first girl just sighs.

"She spent a lot of time with them already! Jeez, but this, I think that no one would even alive on this Earth anymore!" The first girl scoffed. "Well, would you take care of who you rely on carefully?" The second one asked as you looked behind you, There is Rantaro, Kokichi, and Maruchi standing there, they looked like they're waiting for the girl to come with them.

"But, unfortunately, if you don't do anything, they'd join us too! How scary..." The male one said as he crosses his arms. "With.. you...?" You muttered what they just said, and noticed that the 2 boys are slowly fading away, only leave out one figure, who you didn't notice that he was there in the first place.

:Who... are you...?" You asked as you get closer to the boy. "Oh... (Y/N)..." The dark figure turned around, and it didn't took you long to notice. He also have a knife! "Wh-What are you going to d-do with that?!" You asked panicky, as the figure giggled. "It's alright, (Y/N)... because you can always trust in me that I would never kill you... In fact... We're going to be together!" The figure said as he raised his knife to your throat...
