Cyrus awoke abruptly sweating on Tuesday. He had just had a nightmare. Jonah Beck was going around terrorising him with his goons. But just like most of the nightmares Cyrus had, Buffy always turned up and kicked his head in. He dressed himself, did his hair up, took a deep breath, turned his playlist on and ventured out to school.

He met with Buffy at her house as usual and began the rant.
"So I have a secret admirer, they're a brown haired girl who sits the complete opposite side of the room from me in English and maths, and I hate her apparently." He said in one breath.
"Yeah well it's nice to see you too Cyrus!" She laughed at Cyrus's now red face.
"That's so exciting! But I can only think of one brown haired girl who sits opposite side of the room." She continued.

"Megan." They both said. Megan was a cute girl at Jefferson, she pretended to be a slut because she was so confident and energetic. Cyrus thought about that and realised maybe it was her if it would ruin her reputation as that. But why would that be a bad thing? Was the thought going through Cyrus's head.

"She said she'll give me a hint during today's practice exam," Cyrus added.
"Ooooh Cyrus I'm so excited for you!" She squealed.

They arrived at school and started the day as usual... well. Cyrus became super aware of anything that might have come across as a hint. First of all, Amber, Jonah's ex girlfriend, hit Cyrus's shoulder walking past and smiled back. Nope, she's blonde he thought. Megan walked past, no hints, signs, nothing.
"Cyrus I need you to calm down and don't worry about any of this." Andi said running his back.

Andi looked up and saw Jonah looking over briefly before looking at his younger girlfriend. She squinted her eyes at the small possibility... no. Never.

Back in the exam hall for day two. Everyone sat in their seats but were yelled at for the commotion whilst coming in. Stationary being moved around was suddenly the only sound heard. The time started and everyone opened their paper. Cyrus spent 10 seconds looking at a question and skipped, skipped, skipped. Looked at the clock, skip question, look around the room. His eyes met a few people but nothing obvious.

He peered over at Megan who sat pretty far away but she was busy on the test. Maybe it wasn't her. Andi was also looking around every now and then to see. And then JONAH FRICKING BECK needed the god damn toilet AGAIN!!! Cyrus didn't even have the energy to come up with a reason to be mad at him. Instead he just casually watched the boy walk towards the back of the room.

Then something strange happened. Jonah's emerald eyes raised to meet Cyrus's. He smiled quickly and then jolted his head around with his face growing pink. He dashed out the door and Cyrus just scrunched his eyebrows. Andi and Buffy also saw the interaction and had the same reaction as Cyrus. They were quickly snapped out of it when a teacher cleared her throat to regain focus.

The sound of the door shutting could be heard and footsteps grew closer to Cyrus. He clenched his fists together as a strutting Jonah Beck passed him, a breeze following. It caused Cyrus to shiver. Jonah took a seat and carried on with his test.

A few other people smiled at Cyrus around the hall and before he knew it, time was up and he hadn't answered a question. He panicked and quickly left the hall.

He regrouped with Buffy and Andi outside and they made their way up to a gate that should've been opened. It was locked however leaving the students to complain about the cold.
"Soooo, any ideas?" Andi asked smiling.
"I don't know, Megan didn't do anything." Cyrus replied.
"I saw a hell of a lot of people making hints," Buffy added.
"Yeah I know right, did you see Jon..."
"It's NOT Jonah!" Cyrus shouted abruptly causing a few confused looks.

Megan was at the front of the line in front of the locked gate and Cyrus wanted to ask her as she was pretty confident. He unlocked his phone to show her messages if necessary and went up to her.

"Hey uh Megan?" Cyrus tapped her on the arm causing her to turn around.
"Oh hey.... Cyrus right?" She asked.
"Yeah umm I was wondering, you wouldn't happen to be this person right?" He asked showing her the start of the messages. She read them thoroughly and chuckled.

"No that's not me but that style sounds like someone you wouldn't wanna know!" She laughed.
"Why? Who do you think it is?" Buffy interrupted.
"Well.. I've messaged a lot of people in this school and the only one who says things like that is... Jonah Beck."

Cyrus froze.

It couldn't be, it was a girl.

"They said they were a girl."
"They could've been nervous, or scared." Megan replied.
"Yeah Cyrus, I texted them after without telling you and they said something different to that." Andi smiled slightly.

"So what? It's automatically Jonah Beck!?" Cyrus demanded answers.
"The story adds up Cyrus..." Buffy added knowing that Cyrus knew that.

Jonah had brown hair. Swept down in front of his round face. Cyrus liked it like that. He sat the opposite side of the room in English and maths. Cyrus... acted like he hated him. That smile. The eyes.

Cyrus shook the thoughts out his head and someone finally came to unlock the gate. Cyrus looked up at his English class window and saw a group of faces. In the middle of them...

Emerald eyes met chocolate eyes.
