36: The Funeral

"I'll see you later babe."

"It'll be okay." Cyrus smiled back to Jonah.

"And I'll see you later baby boy!" Jonah kissed Harvey on the head. Cyrus closed and opened his hand to simulate a wave but Harvey wouldn't copy it.

The skies were grey and cloudy making the world seem desaturated. Jonah knee that today wouldn't be a great one. So much anger and sadness boiled up inside him just wasn't a good feeling. Jonah walked towards his car and got inside before letting out a large sigh.

"She's gonna pay." He mumbled to himself and started the engine. Cyrus and Harvey watched as Jonah pulled away from the driveway and headed west towards the cemetery.

"Shall we take a walk with Charlie?" Cyrus asked Harvey. The boy just looked up at him with no expression but smiled.

"I'll take that as a yes." Cyrus said.

Jonah's mind was full of thoughts as he was driving. The graveyard wasn't too far away but for him it felt like forever. The only thing on his mind was Amber and no matter what anyone said, he was always gonna blame her.

"Come on it's just through here, up the elevator." Jonah smirked and ran towards the elevator.

"Who's this Jonah?" Natalie asked before winking. Jonah grabbed the girls hand and brought her to the front desk.

"This is Amber, my girlfriend." Jonah beamed.

"Oh well it's nice to meet you Amber." Natalie said.

"Yeah it's lovely to meet you too Natalie." Amber smiled back.

That memory nearly broke Jonah, he had to pull over. Once he did, his eyes were clouded and he started banging his head against the wheel.

"Yeah I'm sure, I'll catch up with you in a bit babe." A voice was heard and Jonah's car door opened. A boy got inside and was watching Jonah.

"Marty? What're you doing here?" Jonah asked.

"I'm going to a funeral, Aren't you supposed to be there?" He followed with a question.

"Yeah, I um- I just had a moment." Jonah replied.

"We're all suffering right now Jonah, we have to stick together." Marty smiled sadly and place his hand on Jonah's shoulder. Jonah looked at Marty with tears in his eyes.

"Come here." Marty said wiping Jonah's eyes and pulling him into a hug. There was a silence in the car for a few moments.

"This feels nice." Jonah mumbled.

"I thought it would, you just need some comforting." Marty replied.

"Ok shall we head off now?" Jonah asked.

"Yeah," Marty replied. Jonah started the car again and started driving. It was a quiet drive for the rest of the way.

"Why were you walking?" Jonah asked finally.

"Buffy thought it would be good," Marty replied.

Once they arrived at the graveyard, Jonah put his head down for a few moments.

"It's gonna be okay," Marty said.

"I know it's just- I can't be angry here of all places." Jonah replied.

"You'll be fine, trust me. Now come on." Marty said as he got out of the car.

"Okay."

The graveyard had a few different ceremonies taking place today, none of them near each other. There were a lot of people there for Natalie's funeral. It looked beautiful thanks to Jonah's parents who made sure to not miss out on anything. Andi, Walker, Buffy, Jonah's parents, the other assistants, Natalie's family and her friends were all there to mourn her and say their final goodbyes. The skies were a dark grey still as the ceremony began.

"Let's just hope it doesn't rain." Cyrus said as he gripped the dog lead and held onto the stroller. He locked the house up and walked towards the park. There were a couple people walking around with either another person or their pets. Harvey was just lay in the stroller with a pacifier in his mouth, watching Cyrus. He would play with Harvey often so he wouldn't get sad and start crying. Once arriving at the park, Cyrus let Charlie off of her lead so she could run around for a bit. He made sure that Harvey didn't leave his sight for a second. Anxiety had overwhelmed Cyrus aswell as Jonah since the murder and they couldn't live to see their baby gone.

As Charlie was playing and running around, Cyrus took Harvey out and played some small games with him on the grass. He started with peekaboo which Harvey absolutely loved. Babies always can't stop laughing when playing peekaboo. He also just talked to the boy for a while because the sooner he started talking, the better.

Jonah stood with his hands together out in front of him like the other men. The coffin carriers brought her coffin over and they began lowering it into the ground. Some words were said meanwhile everyone was either sobbing or had a lifeless look on their faces. Jonah's head was full of jumbled up emotions, he didn't know what to feel. He was probably stood there the longest whilst everyone else moved around and said their goodbyes before heading off. Not everyone knew each other that well so only words of reassurance were used. Once most people had left, Jonah fell to his knees in front of the stone.

"You shouldn't have died." He started whilst sobbing.

"You didn't deserve that, you didn't."

"And I won't rest Natalie, not until I have what I want."

"I want to avenge you."

"I will avenge you."
