It was Saturday morning and Cyrus was sat up in his bed answering birthday messages from people he knew and some he didn't really know. No message from Jonah, Andi, or Buffy yet however. He walked downstairs to see his mom and dad both sat down on the sofa waiting for him.
"Good morning darling! Happy Birthday!!" They cheered. Cyrus smiled and sat down in between them. He opened his presents and cards that they had gotten for him and had a big breakfast. He kept checking his phone with no messages from his friends and Jonah still.
He made his way up to his bedroom and spotted a small box on his bed. He sat on the bed and picked it up. It was a plain white box with a note on the side. He read the note.
"6:00 don't be late," it read. Cyrus rolled his eyes and began opening the box. Inside was another box, white with a gold geometric pattern on the front. It said Cyrus's name on it aswell. He opened the box and saw a new watch from Jonah. He checked it out for a minute and put it on his wrist. It must've costed Jonah a fortune.
Cyrus heard a knock at the front door but waited for his parents to answer it. There were muffled conversations and laughter downstairs and his dad walked into his bedroom.
"Get changed Cyrus, you have a surprise downstairs." He smiled and walked out again. He got changed into his best clothes and ran downstairs to be greeted by Andi, Buffy and Marty.
"SURPRISE!!" They screamed. Cyrus started laughing and joined them outside.
"You have a big day ahead of you Cyrus!" Andi chuckled.
"What's the plan?" Cyrus asked excitedly.
"Well do you remember The Spoon?" Buffy asked.
"No way! I love you guys!" He said.
"We know it's not the greatest place but it's special." Andi said.
"It's perfect!" Cyrus added.
They all got into Marty's car and set off to the Spoon.
"Hey Cyrus did you get that watch for your birthday?" Andi asked.
"Umm yeah my parents got it for me." He lied.
"Doesn't that watch come from the company that Jonah's family owns?" Marty asked looking back briefly.
"Uh no I don't.. no he doesn't." Buffy lied and laughed to hide Cyrus from the truth. She didn't want him to worry about Jonah at the moment. She had a hunch that Cyrus might like Jonah but she wanted him to be comfortable if the rumours about Jonah's wealth were true.
They arrived at the Spoon and were hit with a wave of blissful nostalgia at the sound of the bell on the door. They sat on the table of four near the centre of the restaurant.
"Feels good to be back doesn't it?" Buffy smiled.
"It sure does." Andi and Cyrus replied.
"I kinda miss the Italian place," Marty smirked.
"Oooh yeah how did your date go?" Cyrus asked wiggling his eyebrows. Buffy smiled brightly.
"It was really fun actually, we're thinking of going to the fair after this if you guys want to come." Marty said.
"I've gotta be uh gone by 5:30," Cyrus said, his eyes not meeting anyone.
"I guess it's just you two then, I don't wanna be a third wheel," Andi added. Buffy just nodded and smiled at her crush. Amber started walking to the table all of a sudden and everyone realised it was a mistake coming here.
