"They're calling"
I saw terror and sadness mixed in Lilia's eyes.
"Is this normal? Akala ko wala ako sa isip nila? Baket sila tumatawag? Anong gagawin natin?"
She bombarded me with questions on top of questions.
I gently pat her shoulder to calm her.
" As you can see it's possible, this bubble has limitations, something unplanned must've happen to them... I cannot enchant spontaneous thoughts and event. "
She looked at me with teary eyes.
Napaka iyakin talaga nitong babaeng to.
"Sasagutin ko ba?"
I nodded and moved to the bed so that I'll be out of frame.
She took a deep breath and answered the video call.
"Hi Mommmyyy!!! I misss you!!!"
" Anak! Miss ka na rin namin ng daddy mo, oh bat ka umiiyak?"
Her mom's voice is so melodic and calming.
I notice tears streaming down Lilia's cheeks.
I stood up and place a box of tissue on the desk.
She smiled at me and took some tissue to wipe her tears away.
" Na mimiss ko na kasi kayo mommy!!!"
She continued to sob.
"Nako! Napaka balat sibuyas talaga ng dalaga ko, wag ka nang umiyak nak, ilang araw nalang pabalik na kami ng daddy mo."
My heart almost sank.
Nanlaki din yung mga mata niya.
"A- ano? Uuwi na kayo mommy???"
"Oo, sabik na sabik na kasi kaming makita ulit yung nag iisang anak naming makulit."
Lilia forced a smile as she was drying her cheeks.
" Yeheeey, makokompleto na ulit tayo!!"
She responded, trying her best to sound happy and energetic.
" Anak teka, nasan ka ba? Parang hindi naman yan yung kwarto mo?"
Lilia looked at me with full on panic.
" Ahh... Eh..."
I quickly mouthed " tutor " when she looked at me desperately for help.
" Nasa bahay pala ako ng kaibigan ko mom, may tutorial session kasi kami ngayon. "
" Ah ganon ba? Sige mamaya na muna ako tatawag ulit sayo kapag nakauwi kana ..."
" Ok mommmy, bye..."
" Bye anak..."
The call was finally dropped.
We stared at each other for a minute trying to digest what just happened.
" Paano na to ngayon? What are we gonna do Gray?"
" I guess, we should make your recovery faster..."
" Paano?"
She moved her wheelchair towards me.
" I know a way but it will be risky and very painful for you..."
"Wala na tayong choice..."
I frowned.
I just don't want to risk losing her.
