Chapter 28: Hurting

Jack Johnson's POV

"Jack you never guess what just happened" I said laughing down the phone to Gilinsky.

"What?"

"I just told my mom and dad about us moving to LA and they are totally cool with it! I didn't think it would be that easy!"

"Awesome man! I told my mom and she cried a little but they are totally for me doing what I want" he said excitedly.

I was about to respond when I got distracted by a noise coming from another room. It sounded like Jess. And I started to get worried. Jess wasn't the type of person to come running to someone straight away. Instead, she tries to solve them on her own but ends up doing something stupid.

"Hey man I gotta go"

"Alright, see ya later dude" he said and ended the call. I got up from my bed and walked over to Jess' room where I found her crying into her pillow, her phone stranded on the floor left on an image on twitter.

I picked up her phone and tapped the picture.

It was Cameron. Kissing another girl.

My jaw dropped.

I walked over to Jess and cradled her in my arms, as she sobbed into my chest.

"I t-trusted him. I d-didn't think he would do this to me. Out of everyone in the world, why me?!" she sobbed harder.

"Shhhh it's ok it's ok" I reassured her.

Then her phone rang. Cameron<3.

She glanced at her phone and simply looked away as if this was nothing.

I picked it up and answered.

"Hey babe! Did you tell your mom and dad about you moving here?"

"Cameron this is Jack." I said plainly.

"Oh hey man, is Jess there?" he asked. His voice showing slight worriedness of why I answered her own phone.

"She doesn't want to talk to you right now" I walked out of room. I didn't want her listening to me.

"...wh-"

"Why would you do this to her Cameron? You know what she has been through!"

"What are you talking about?! I would never hurt her!!" he screamed down the phone.

"Go check twitter Cameron." I said bluntly and hung up.

Cameron's POV

"Go check twitter Cameron" Jack said down the phone and hung up.

"What's up man?" Nash asked, walking into my room.

"Nash, what's been going around twitter about me?!" I said worriedly.

His expression went blank and he slowly took out his phone from his back pocket. He tapped and scrolled through his phone and held it up to me, revealing a picture of me kissing some random blonde girl.
I took the phone from his hand and studied the pictures. He stood there awkwardly, sliding his hands into his back pockets.
"When did this even happen?!" I asked. Tears started to fill up my eyes.

"When me, you and bryant went out last night to that club, it was those girls remember"

I handed his phone back to him.
Tears started rolling down my face.
I sunk to my knees.

"She hates me bro. The love of my life hates me and there's nothing I can do to take it back." I said, not bothering to control my crying.
"Cam dont say that. You and jess are meant to be. Not even this could break you guys apart." He said rubbing my shoulder as reassurance.

"I just can't believe I'm doing this to her. After everything she has been through and then her own boyfriend practically cheats on her" I said sniffing.
"I'll leave you alone for a few minutes to calm down. Remember dude, nothing is ever as bad as it seems" nash said before leaving my room, closing the door behind him.

Nash's POV
"Jess will you FaceTime me for a few minutes? I'm not with cam don't worry" I texted jess. I knew I needed to help clear things up.
"Okay...please don't trick me. I don't want to see him" she replied. I sighed and waited for her call through.
I accepted and her face popped up on screen. Mascara running down her face with every tear, her eyes red from crying.
"oh Jess" I said sympathetically. It hurt to see her like this. She was like a sister to me but cam's a best friend to me.
"I just can't believe it nash. I trusted him and he cheated on me. 3 days before his 'girlfriend' is supposed to be moving in with him!!" She sobbed into a tissue.
"Listen, I know your not gonna like what I am about to say but you have to believe me ok? those pictures you saw on Twitter, it wasn't what it looks like! Me, cam and bryant went out last night to a club in downtown LA, and we'd had a few drinks at that point and i remember at least 10 different women trying to force themselves onto me. No kidding like one of them nearly kissed me! I hope she didn't have a disease" I said humorously to make her laugh, pulling a disgusted face.
She gave slight giggle but the pain still showed through.
"You have to believe me Jess. You and Cameron are meant to be. Nothing can break you two apart. Not even this."
"I don't know nash. I think this might be the end of us." She spoke. New tears fell down her face.

"But the question is, do you want it to?"

She paused, the thought rolling around her mind.

"You got to listen to your heart. Not your mind. Right now, your mind is thinking about the pain but your heart, thats where the truth lies." I added.

Then the door burst open and Cameron entered. His face was red and his eyes were puffy.

"Jess please, let me explain" he screamed.

"Oh my god no I'm leaving" she sobbed harder, about to end it.

"No no no please Jess baby please just hear me out, please!" he cried as he took my phone into his grasp.

Surprisingly, she didn't react.

"Listen, whatever you saw on twitter is completely fake. Loads of girls were throwing themselves at us. And then this girl came up to me and she asked my opinion on her perfume but then she tricked me and kissed me but she only got the corner of my mouth. Jess I promised you I would never hurt you, and I will always stand by that." he sniffed, tears still coming through.

It took her a few moments to respond.

"I don't know. I need a break, a chance to think. Bye." she said. She burst into tears as she ended.

IM FINALLY BACK OMG

IVE BEEN LIKE SO BUSY BC IVE HAD LIKE 2 WEEKS OF FINALS BUT THEY ENDED TODAY SO NOW IM FREE YAAASSS

I felt so bad bc i knew you guys were waiting and I had a draft ready but it deleted -.-

but now im back soo stay tuned for more updates soon! I'm going to try update as much as I can before and around christmas.
