Jess’ POV

“How you feelin’ today?” Jack asked, as he wandered into my room as I sat on my bed reading whilst my TV played music from a random radio station.

I shrugged. “A little better I guess. I just need new ways to get my mind off things.”

“So reading and listening to music is your new way out. That’s good.” He said smiling as he sat at the end of my bed.

I bookmarked my page and flicked the TV onto a random channel whilst I spoke to Jack.

“And in other news. The social media and upcoming actor Cameron Dallas has been rushed to hospital.” The newsreporter spoke, just as I opened my mouth to speak.

I fell silent, staring intensely at the screen.

“He was involved in car accident after a large vehicle considered to be a truck, hit the side of the car, causing the vehicle to turn over onto its roof. So far ambulance services have confirmed there were no other passengers in the car but we are still waiting for confirmation of his condition. Stay tuned for more.”

Jack turned to me, his face showing total shock.

I shot up from bed and ran to my vanity and picked up my phone.

“Come on, come on, come on!” I shouted at my phone as I waited for it to turn on.

Guilt, dear and nervousness started running through my body.

What if something bad happened to him and I never said my last words to him?

My phone finally switched on and I hurried to his contact, then one after one all the messages started piling through…then the voicemails.

I closed my eyes but the tears seeped through anyway.

I tapped the phone icon and waited for the call to connect.

No answer.

“Hello, Nash?!” my brother said, pacing the floor.

I rushed over and listened in on his call.

“Cameron…he w-was on his way to Verizon and t-the car just” Nash cried.

Just hearing the pain in his voice broke what was left of what I thought was my mending heart.

Jack rubbed my back sympathetically. I could tell even though he was mad at Cameron, he was worried. My brother wasn’t the type of person to hold a grudge.

“Where are you now??” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady so he could hear me.

“I’m at the hospital. I arrived the same time he did. It was horrible Jess. He was still conscious as he was being taken in and he kept calling your name like he was in agony. H-he was crying and then he was taken in.” he sniffled.

With each word, it brought a clear vision of Cameron. It made my heart ache desperately.

“I need to get out there” I cried into Jack’s shoulder.

“Nash, we will be out there as soon as we can. Today, if possible. Hold on man, and keep us updated!” my brother said.

“I will I promise”

“Grab your stuff and meet me downstairs in 5 minutes. Hey, don’t worry. Remember, nothing is ever as bad as it seems.” Jack said, wiping my tears before rushing out.

(A/N: I know these chapter's might seem short but I don't want to put too much into one chapter, and plus, it means I can update more regularly without you all waiting longer for an update.)
