Chapter 10: Gym

Camerons POV

Me, Nash and Hayes got woke by room service. I didn’t really get much sleep last night but I felt fine. I’m pretty sure I heard Carter’s room door close last night. I still felt a little bad but it wasn’t all my fault and I’m pretty sure Carter feels the same way I do. I’d talk to him later about it. I didn’t want this to ruin Magcon.

“SHOT GUN SHOWER FIRST!” Nash screamed.

“NOT IF I SHOWER FIRST!” I said, jumping up from bed and tackling Nash at the bathroom door. He ended up showering first after numerous games of rock, paper, scissors, which in my defence, was completely biased.

This was our first free day until Magcon started tomorrow, so I decided to get dressed into Black basketball shorts and a white tank top and head down to the gym.

“Going to the gym, see ya in a bit!” I said through the door to nash.

“Okay!” he said over the noise of the shower.

“Later dude” I said Hayes as I walked out. I pulled out my phone as I walked to the elevator, texting  back my mom and sister until I walked straight into someone.

I looked up to see Carter.

“Oh sorry man, I wasn’t looking where I was going” I said awkwardly.

“Nah don’t worry about it.

“Uh, listen, there’s something I wanna tell you.” He said, putting his hands into his back pockets.

“Me too”

“I’m sorry” we said in completely coincidental union. We laughed before I spoke up.

“I am sorry, I shouldn’t have raised my voice like that.”

“I shouldn’t have walked out either. Plus it was cold so I regretted it as soon as I step foot outside.” He chuckled.

“Well I’m glad we talked! Meet you for breakfast later?” I said, slowly continuing to walk down the hall.

“Yeah sure, text me when you’re ready! Later dude!”

I got into the elevator feeling a lot better about myself. I got to the 1st level and walked to the gym. It looked empty except for one person. I walked in to find that one person was Jess. She had her beats headphones on with a white sports bra on and black shorts and shoes, running on the treadmill. She looked so hot, plus we were matching by another coincidence. I walked up behind her and gently grabbed her shoulders, giving her a fright. She jumped on the side of the treadmill, lowering her headphones to her neck and slowed it down before turning to me.

“Oh my god Cameron you gave me a huge fright!” She said, her hand on her heart.

“Hahah, so what brings you down her so early?” I ask, jumping on the treadmill next to hers, pressing all the buttons to get it started.

“Didn’t sleep a lot last night, and I was awake early this morning so I thought I’d give the gym a try. What about you?” She sped her treadmill up to walking speed and grabbed her water bottle.

“Couldn’t sleep either, plus I got woken up by Nash’s wake up call so I guess that got me up.”

“Why did Nash have a wake up call? Magcon isn’t until tomorrow” She said, her brows furrowed.

“He’s meeting that waitress from Apple Bee’s later” I replied.

Her draw dropped and then turned into a smile.

“Awh that girl Drew! I like her, she’s very pretty” She said, starting to pick up a slow running pace.

Not as beautiful as you, I wanted to say so much but I contained myself.

She increased her speed and began running.

After about another 5 minutes of the treadmill, I got off and went over to the weights. I picked a 10kg weight and faced the mirror. I did continuous reps on both arms, whilst watching Jess on the treadmill through the mirror.

Her body was perfect. She had perfect curves, outlining her stomach and her hips. Her legs were flawlessly toned and tanned and her long brown and blonde ponytail was swaying side to side, reaching her lower back.

Jess POV

After what felt like forever, I got off the treadmill, I lowered my headphones and wiped my forehead with a towel. I looked over at Cam who was lifting weights, showing off his perfect muscular arms. It was hard not to stare. I walked over next to him and watched him lift. He smiled at me as he continued.

“Can I try?” I asked. I wanted to see if I could lift it too.

“You sure? It’s pretty heavy” He said.

“What, you think girls aren’t as strong as guys?” I said with sass, snapping my fingers in a ‘Z’ formation.

He laughed and handed it to me gently, as if he was passing me a rabbit.

I have to admit it was heavy but I managed to do at least 6 reps before I handed back to Cameron.

“I’m impressed” he said still smiling, his eyebrows raised.

“Thank you very much” I said with a wink. I checked my phone and it was 8:47am. “We should probably head back and get ready for breakfast”

“Sure” he replied, as he picked up his towel, threw it around his neck and followed me out of the gym to the elevator.

“Are we still on for today?”

“If you mean surfing then hell yeah! I’m so excited! I’ve always wanted to surf!” I said excitedly, thinking the thought.

“I already think you’re going to be a natural” he said encouragingly.

I smiled at the compliment. “Thanks, you’re the best surfer I’ve seen around. You should join competitions! You’d easily win with those techniques.”

“Nah, I’d never win against other competitors” he said, scratching the back of his neck as we walked out of the elevator.

“I disagree” I said with sass once again. Sass was like my main element in any conversation.

We reached my room and I stopped to find my room key in my pocket.

“I’ll see you for breakfast, say about half 9?” Cameron suggested.

“Sure. See you then!” I said, swiping my room key.

Cameron smiled and quickly dived in to kiss my cheek before heading down the hall, smiling over his shoulder at me as he went.

I smiled at the ground and walked in. What is it with guys these days?! First Cam then Carter and now Cameron again?!
