Jess POV
I prayed that those footsteps belonged to the guys, but I knew deep down inside that it wasn’t. I just didn’t want to believe it.
They re-entered the room. Jake and the two other guys following behind Mallory.
Mallory smirked as her eyes traced my body. Paying extra attention to the mini pools of blood forming around the gashes in my body, only until her eyes reached my phone lying next to me.
She walked over to me, picking up my phone and bending down so our eyes were level.
“Did you just ring somebody?” she asked slowly.
“No” I lied.
She slapped me immediately after. “Liar!”
She stood up and walked back over to the rest, unlocking my phone to see my recents.
“You called your brother and Cameron! How dare you!” she said, throwing my phone to the floor.
She turned to the last guy standing by the door way. He carried a suspicious looking black bag. I couldn’t even begin to imagine what was inside.
“Do it now, before anyone shows up” she said, looking back down at me with a disgusted look on her face.
He nodded and walked over to the bed next to me. He loosened the lace and stuck his hand inside the bag, only then to reveal a black shot gun.
He looked up at me with his expressionless face and proceeded to me.
I took my knowingly last struggled breaths. All my memories flooding through my brain.
He threw me forward so there was space behind me. He kneeled down and threw his wrist around my neck, causing my head to tilt, making it even harder to breath.
I felt a hard metal object rest against the side of my temple. This is it.
“It was nice knowing ya” Mallory said, waving.
I could feel his grip on the gun tighten as he slowly pulled the trigger.
“STOP!”
Cameron’s POV
The house finally came into view. Nash pulled over into a parking lot a few doors down from the house. We all scrambled out of the car and began running. We didn’t have to tell each other. It was just a natural instinct to do.
We approached the front of the house but there was no door. Each window was boarded up.
“There’s no windows how are we supposed to get in?!” Drew asked. She had tear marks down her cheeks.
“I found it” Gilinsky whispered, walking into the house slowly.
It was like a horror movie, walking into this what seemed an abandoned.
My heart was pounding. We didn’t know what could be around the corner. I was scared what I might see.
“Wait, can you hear that?” Carter whispered.
We all paused, listening intensely at the faint sound of a voice from upstairs.
“We need to get up there now before it’s too late” I said. I began walking up the stairs, carefully not to step on any loose floor boards that could attract noise.
As we got closer to upstairs, the voice slowly grew louder, until you could make out two voices, a girl and a boy.
“It’s Mallory” Carter whispered, with a disgusted face.
