Jess’ POV
We walked along the beach to the restaurant Cameron was taking me to that was right next to the pier. I jumped onto Cameron’s back as he ran in and out of the shore line of the water, laughing.
“There it is” Cameron said, pointing at a building named ‘Ristorante Al Mare’.
“It looks beautiful” I said awe struck.
We reached the steps and walked up into the restaurant. It was beautiful. Fairy lights draped the walls and banisters, and entwining around the poles.
“Hi! Welcome to Ristorante Al Mare! Name?” A brown haired woman in a black waitress uniform asked.
“Dallas”
She looked down the list until she found the name and ticked it off.
“Follow me” she said, taking two menus .
We followed her through the restaurant, my arm linked around Cameron’s, as she led us out onto a private balcony, which was outlined with candles which contrasted with the orange sky.
“Here” she said smiling, as she saw our expressions. She pointed to our table, draped with a white table cloth, red rose petals scattered, the plates and cutlery set out with a candle marking the centrepiece.
“It’s so beautiful” I whispered.
She set our menus down and walked back inside.
Cameron pulled my chair out for me as I sat down and then sat down opposite me.
“I have something for you” he said, pulling a white rose from under the table cloth.
“That’s beautiful. Why a white rose?” I said smiling.
“Because if I gave you a red rose, I’d be showing the same love as anyone else. Whereas by giving you a white rose, it’s my own token of love to you.”
Just the way he said it. His smile, his gaze, it left me speechless. I just smiled and blushed.
“I love you” I said.
“I love you too babe. So what are you ordering?” he said, looking down the menu.
“I don’t know, you?”
“I have an idea I think you’ll like” he said, smirking.
“Can I take your order?” the same waitress asked, coming back with a notepad and pen in hand.
“On the share menu, we’ll take spaghetti” Cameron said smiling at me. I knew what he was doing. Lady and the Tramp is one of my all-time favourite Disney movies. And he wanted to react it.
“Okay, would you like meatballs with that?”
“Yes!” I said, before Cameron could say anything else.
“No problem. Can I get you anything to drink?”
“Could we get a bottle of champagne?” Cameron asked.
“Of course! I’ll be right back” she said smiling as she took our menus and walked back inside.
“Spaghetti then huh?” I said laughing.
He nodded laughing.
“Here you go” the waitress said, carrying a wine bottle in her hand. She popped the bottle open and poured us some before putting it in an ice bucket and walking off.
“To us” Cameron said, raising his glass.
“To us” I replied. We took a sip and then talked.

Cameron’s POV
“The last spaghetti” Jess said, picking one end up by her fork. I picked up the other end with mine. We ate the ends until we got to the middle, kissing and fighting over the middle, laughing.
“That was so nice” I said, leaning back in my chair. “Do you want dessert?”
“Of course!” she said, flicking through the dessert menu. “Oh! I want this one! Cam can we please have this one?”
She pointed at a Rocky Road Sundae, made of vanilla and chocolate ice cream, with marshmallows and brownie in it.
“Of course babe” I agreed.
“How was your meal?” the waitress asked, taking our empty plates.
“Amazing! Could we order dessert?” I asked.
“Sure! What can I get for you?” she said.
“A Rocky Road Sundae please” Jess said, smiling.
“No problem, be right back”
“So, what time’s your flight tomorrow?” I asked, sipping from my glass.
“11am. The sooner I get home, see my family, pack my stuff, the earlier I get back out to LA I guess”
“What day are you coming back out?”
“Hopefully Saturday or Sunday. I’m only packing my stuff so it’s not much” she said, shrugging.
“Not much? Jess, did you see how many clothes you brought to Magcon?” I asked laughing.
She laughed and held her hands up in defence. “Hey! A girl can never have too many clothes!”
“Yeah! Including the extra one hundred you bought at the mall the other day”
We laughed and joked as our dessert came out. It was a huge sundae to share between us.
We looked at each other before digging into the sundae to try and find the brownie and marshmallow before each other. We were like kids when it came to stuff like this and that was the best part about our relationship. We didn’t need to be proper with each other all the time.
“HA! I got the biggest bit!” Jess almost shouted in my face. I laughed so hard when she tried to put it all in her mouth at once, but didn’t work out for her.
*********
We finished our dessert after laughing and competitions. By now it was dark and the candles made the ambiance of the room very romantic.
Jess stood up and walked over to the edge of the balcony, overlooking the beach and the pier that was lit up. I stood up and walked over to her. I took off my jacket and put it over her shoulders to keep her warm.
“Thank you so much for all of this today. Words can’t describe how great-full I am for everything you have done for me. I was foolish to break up with you the first time. I never want to let you go” Jess said, taking both my hands in hers.
“You were at a bad point in your life then, it wasn’t your fault. And if you’re sticking with me then you are going to have to put up with all this” I said as a joke, pointing around.
She giggled at my joke and looked down at our hands and then back up at me. We leaned in and our lips collided with each other’s. The same feeling corrupting my mind and heart, the same sparks. This was the girl I wanted for the rest of my life.

Then as if on purpose, fireworks started sounding above us. Purple, red, green, gold fireworks exploding in the dark sky. We smiled and kissed, then turned to watch them. I snaked my arms around her waist from behind and rested my cheek against hers.
The music turned up so ‘Thinking Out Loud’ by Ed Sheeran sounded through the balcony. I took her hand and spun her around to face me. I took one hand in mine and placed my other on her waist. She placed her other on my shoulder and we slow danced. Laughing, smiling, kissing, spinning each other around to the song.
No other moment could ever be as perfect as right now. All I ever wanted was right here. Right now.
