“And we are gathered here today to celebrate the life of Cameron Alexander Dallas.” the undertaker read out in the church. I stood up with the rest of the audience and turned to watch the wooden coffin of which my boyfriend, my future husband, my world laid peacefully in.

My red, puffy eyes couldn’t cry anymore, my heart couldn’t break anymore. Everything was numb.

As I listened to everyone’s speeches, I looked down at my brother’s hand on my thigh remembering how Cameron always used to do that. I looked at his family, huddling together with their tear stained tissues clutched to their faces.

“And now we will hear from Jessica Johnson, Cameron’s beloved girlfriend.”

I got up and walked over to the podium.

I’ve never liked standing up in front of lots of people, especially since the whole ceremony was being broadcasted online for his fans to watch too.

I looked over at his coffin and as if he was here…and alive, it gave me a wave of confidence.

“Cameron…he, he was my world, my soul mate. We planned to do everything together. We planned out our wedding, next to the beach in Hawaii and then our honeymoon in Santorini, a place he always wanted to go” I smiled, looking down at my hands.

“We wanted 2 kids, a girl and a boy called Chloe and Jake. We planned to do everything together. He was such an amazing person. He brought so many people happiness, he saved so many lives and adored every single one of his fans. I could never have imagined a world without Cameron by my side.” I looked over at his family who watched me as if hanging onto my every word.

“I will always love your son forevermore. It’s a love so real that even in these darkest times, it will remain.”

I turned back to his coffin and walked over to it. I traced the pattern carved around the edge with my finger, and then onto the heart above where his chest would be.

I put my hand on it.

“I love you, very much so. Don’t miss me too much” I said, making a slight joke out of it since Cameron was that sort of person. “We’ll be reunited one day. I promise” I finished, kissing the coffin.

“Jess?” a soft voice sounded.

I opened my eyes and found myself back in the waiting room. I looked around and saw everyone in the same place, the same position.

“The nurse just told us that Cameron is back in a stable condition” Nash said, smiling.

It was all a dream…it wasn’t real. Cameron is alive.

“That’s great” I said, relieved.
