Chapter 26: Home sweet home

Jack J’s POV

We were about over an hour into the flight. Me, Anna, Jack and Inbar sat in the middle rows whilst Jess sat on the empty row on the window seat, with her headphones in and her legs hunched into his stomach just staring out of the window, You could tell there was something rolling around her mind. Having the brother-sister relationship that Jess and I have, you always know when there is something wrong. It’s almost like a signal in your gut.

Everyone around me was sleeping so I slowly got up and walked over to the seat next to Jess.

“Hey” she said with a small weak smile.

“Hey…you okay?” I asked.

“Yeah…” she said, avoiding my gaze. Whenever she does that, you know there is something wrong. There is no denying.

“No, there isn’t. Do you miss Cameron already? Is that what it is?”

“Of course I miss Cameron but it’s not that. It’s the nightmares that are worrying me” she said with a deep sigh.

“You don’t have to worry about them. They are starting to become less regular. All because of me though” I said sarcastically, flicking my imaginary hair.

She laughed.

“Thanks bro”

She rested her head on my shoulder and closed her eyes.

Jess POV

I woke up by the sound of the pilot’s voice.

“Ladies and Gentlemen we are descending into Omaha Airport. We will be landing in approximately 4 minutes. Please put on your seatbelts and thank you for flying with American Airlines.”

The plane reached the ground and gradually got to a stop. I couldn’t wait to call Cameron when I got off. We grabbed our bags and headed off the plane through the tunnel connecting the airport.

We waited for our luggage at luggage claim. Gilinsky sat on the carrousel and sat on it like he was meditating. It was so funny, but our luggage was taking forever to come through. In the mean time, I called Cameron.

C- Jess! I’ve been waiting for ages for you to call. How was your flight?

J- It was alright, I had a whole row to myself. Sucks for everyone else.

C- Hahah alright babe, well I’ll call you later okay? I love you.

J- I love you too, bye.

“Finally” my brother said, as our luggage reached us.

“I think this calls for a well deserved starbucks” Anna said.

“Yas let’s goooo” Gilinsky said in his ‘white girl’ voice.

Jess POV

“Mom? Dad?” Jack called as we walked through the door.

“My babies are home! I’ve missed you so much! How was your flight?” My mom said, bringing me and Jack into a hug.

“It was fine, since I had the whole row to myself” I said laughing.

“Benji!” Jack said kneeling down with open arms. “Hey buddy, you been a good boy whilst we’ve been gone?”

I had extreme jet lag even though our flight was only 2 hours long. I headed on upstairs to my room, took a shower and jumped into bed. It felt like I had been away forever. I looked around my room, and took in the fact that these few days were the last time that would be my own room. I still had to tell my mom and dad that me and Cameron were dating again and I was planning to move in with him. I rolled these thoughts over in my mind until my eyes slowly closed.

Hey guys!

You've probably noticed how less frequent I have been updating and I'm so sorry!

As some of you already know I have another book out so I have been working on trying to get that story to starting point. Plus I have a few exams before christmas so i will be a little less active.

I will try to update as much as possible and I know some of these chapters are boring but I dont want to leave a chapter for long so I will try update small bits like this every so often so you aren't waiting long for another chapter.
