19: A Maze of Memories

"My love, wake up, it's a very special day."

"Mm?"

"It's Yunho's birthday."

(Y/n) shot up from bed.

"Yunho's birthday? Why didn't you tell me last night Hwa?"

"Because we were-"

"It was a rhetorical question."

Seonghwa smiled and placed a kiss on (Y/n)'s forehead.

"Come on, let's go wish him a happy birthday."

Seonghwa grabbed (Y/n)'s hand and led her down a corridor.

"Happy birthday to you."

Seonghwa sang as he opened the door. The boys were half asleep.

"Happy birthday, dear Yunho."

The memory seemed so distant now as (Y/n) lay awake in bed. The boys were sound asleep.

...

"Good morning, my love."

(Y/n) smiled as Seonghwa wrapped his arms around her.

"Good morning, my dear pirate king."

Seonghwa pulled her closer and chuckled. He kissed her neck playfully and she laughed.

"H-hey! Stop that!"

(Y/n) turned around to face Seonghwa and he smiled.

"You're so beautiful."

(Y/n) smiled widely and held Seonghwa's face gently.

"I love you, Hwa."

...

Tears began to roll down her cheeks. They seemed so far away. They were unreachable. Her heart pounded in her chest. The memories that she cherished, were fading.

...

"(Y/n)!!!"

Yeosang, San, Wooyoung, and Jongho tackled the girl.

"H-hey! What's up with all the hugging?"

"We missed you."

"I was gone for 6 hours."

They all had puppy eyes and (Y/n) laughed.

"You want a buttermilk bath, don't you?"

The four nodded eagerly and (Y/n) smiled.

"Come on, let's go, I'll prepare one for you guys."

"Yay! We love you!"

(Y/n) ruffled their hair lovingly and chuckled.

"I love you guys too."

...

They were never going to have moments like this again. They would never have the freedom they had before. It would never be the same for them ever again.

...

"Seonghwa, this isn't fair! I've been stuck here for how long?! You can't just keep me locked up!"

"It's for your safety (Y/n), please! Please!"

Seonghwa grabbed (Y/n)'s shoulders. He pleaded with her.

"Please, take me with you. Don't leave me here, you'll be gone for another 3 weeks."

"(Y/n), please, I can't risk it. If you get hurt, I-i'll never forgive myself."

Seonghwa's voice cracked. He was afraid. He was never afraid. He was the powerful, the one and only Pirate King. He feared nothing and no one.

"Please, don't leave me here."

Seonghwa sighed, his head dropped.

"Then, I'll stay here with you. I'll never leave you."

He pulled (Y/n) into a tight hug and rubbed her back.

"I'll never leave you alone, ever. I promise you."
