Katakuri POV

I cackled the news paper in my hands. “Katakuri, what is it?” She asked curiously but I could detect a little concern in her voice. “Nothing.  . Nothing for you to worry about.” I said crumbling the news paper into a ball.

“Captain! We just entered Big Mama’s territory!” My navigator yelling up above the deck. Good. I need to contact Mama. She probably seen the news paper by now.

I glanced over at Fae who jerked her head up with excitement. She jumped out of the bed an ran out of the room to the deck. I sighed, this girl has way too much energy. I chuckled to myself following behind her to the deck. I caught her staring up in to the sky as the cotton candy snow fell upon her.

“What is this?” She asked curiously cupping her hands together catching the cotton candy flecks in her hands. That’s right, she lived in warm climates so she has know idea what snow looks like.

“It’s snow. Taste it.” I said smiling behind my scarf. She licked her palm and her face lit up, “It’s so sweet! Like cotton candy! I’ve only ever heard of snow in books but I never read where it taste like cotton candy!” She said sticking out her tongue letting the cotton candy snow flecks fall on her tongue.

“That’s because it only snows cotton candy here. It’s doesn’t do this any where else in the world.” I said in a matter-of-fact tone of voice. “Really?! That’s amazing.” She spun around in circles laughing and catching as many snow flecks as she should in the palm of her hands.

She was so beautiful dancing and jumping around. I could watch her all day and never get bored but she stopped midway staring out at the distance of the sea as if she heard something. Her eyes grew wide as she slowly walked to the side of the ship looking down at the water.

Fae POV

“What? What’s wrong Fae?” Katakuri asked on high alert.

I couldn’t help but giggle at his paranoia. “Don’t worry I just hear singing.” I said happily.

He didn’t look at me as if I were crazy but he did seem skeptical. “Can’t you hear his voice? It’s so beautiful.” I said listening to the melody that filling my hears. It was a distances away but I could still hear him.

“No, I can’t hear anything out of the ordinary.” He said seriously but I could tell he was listening hard. “What is it saying?” He asked curiously. “He’s singing and it’s not necessarily words. It’s hard to describe but I’ll do my best.” I said determined listening carefully so I could translate his melody.

~I shall call upon your name and we will walk upon the water until the waves knock us over as our love fills the ocean and our souls drift the seas. Say my name and I shall dance beneath the star light.~

I song my heart out hearing the beautiful voice getting closer and louder singing back to me until he was beneath me. I could feel the boat rocking back and forth as it slowly revealed itself to me. Waves crashed against the boat as it rose up to the surface.

He was the largest Sea Snake I have ever seen. His belly was aqua blue and he had long silky white fur growing from the top of his head all the way down to the tip of his tale. His eyes were ocean blue and he had fairy like wings growing out of the sides of his head. He was gorgeous.

His massive head leaned down staring into my eyes purring. I couldn’t help but give him a gentle smile as I stretch my hand out to touch him. A big bang sound came from the distance and before I had time to react, a black harpoon pierced right through the Sea Snakes body. His blood rained down on top of my face as he roared in agony.

“No!” I screamed from the top of my lungs with tears streaming down my face. Katakuri leaped in to the air and his arm stretched turning into Mochi as it flung at an incredible speed to the shooters ship destroying the harpoon gun.

I would have been completely stunned at that moment but I didn’t care. All I cared about was saving the Sea Snake. He landed pretty hard on top of the water and if I don’t get to him fast, he’ll sink and die. I jumped off the side of the ship putting a thin layer of water underneath my feet to run on top of the water as fast as I could.

The harpoon was wedged deep into his flesh but he was still alive and breathing but not for long if I don’t move fast.

“Everything is going to be alright but this is going to hurt!” I cried trying to pull myself together. The harpoon was to large for me to pull out on my own.

Okay, Fae calm down. You can do this! I concentrated hard slowly lifting the sea water around me into the air to form two large hands. It was like trying to hold up a building. I could feel blood running down my nose from straining to hard but I didn’t care.

The water mimicked my hand movements as I wrapped the sea water fingers around the harpoon yanking it out as fast as I could. The water dropped around us and my breathing was all ragged. I wasn’t able to hold on to water any longer but I got it out in time before I lost control. It was the first time I ever held up so much water and it took a big chuck of energy out of me but I wasn’t done yet. I need to heal him or he’ll bleed out.

The Sea Snake roared in pain. “I’m sorry, I know it hurts but I promise, I’ll make the pain go away.” I whispered feeling exhausted but I touched his cool aqua scales. I desperately wanted to heal him and I allowed that to be my motivation to force the last bit of energy I had into healing him.

His whole body glowed gold and the wound slowly started shrinking until it was gone. I finally healed him completely but I didn’t have any energy left. I felt my lips curl up into a small smile and the thin line of water under my feet dissipate and before I knew it, I was falling.

I could hear Katakuri shouting from a distance but his words were muffled and darkness welcomed me wrapping around my mind and body sweeping my conscience away.
