Fae POV
“Close your eyes.” Theo whispered softly to me and I didn’t hesitate to obey. For a second I heard and felt nothing until his hand wrap around my waist tightly and the next thing I knew, the sound of the ocean filled my ears and I could feel the breeze blowing through my hair gently.
I kept my eyes closed in fear that I may only be imagining everything but I inhaled deeply and I could taste the salt water and my lungs rejoiced with satisfaction when cool air filled them with ease.
“You look absolutely stunning in rose gold and your hair looks gorgeous curled. I can’t wait for everyone to see the most beautiful creature in the world.” Theo said softly against my ear and I felt my eyes fluttering open before I gave them permission to but I didn’t care anymore. I had to see with my own eyes that I was out of that caged room and when I saw the moon and the ocean only a few feet away, I wanted to cry with joy but my excitement was cut short when I remember what I was suppose to be doing.
I found Theo’s icy blue eyes studying me closely, “your soft grey eyes are quite captivating through that rose gold mask." His eyes harden for a moment, "I'm beginning to worry that you may enchant a lot of men tonight and now I’m starting to have second thoughts about you attending this party but a promise is a promise.” He told me, offering me his arm with a devilishly smirk plastered on his lips.
He's already testing me but I won't fall for his ruse.
I smiled softly up at him, reminding myself to stay calm as I hooked my arm around his and I before I knew it, we were standing in front of a large mansion and I could hear soft classical music coming from inside the mansion.
“We are a little late so prepare for all eyes to be on you.” Theo told me, giving the guards a quick nod.
My heels froze to the ground when the guards pushed open the large doors. “Wait, I’m not ready!” But it was to late. The music stopped and everyone in fancy masquerade ball gowns and suites, stopped talking among themselves and stared into our direction.
Theo chuckled lightly when my grip around his arm tightened. “Why is everyone looking at us?” I asked Theo nervously in a low voice.
“They aren’t looking at 'us' they are looking at you, my dear.” Theo whispered softly but the smile in his eyes disappeared when and old tall skinny man that looked a lot like Theo in more ways then one, began to approach us but he didn't have Theo's blue eyes. This man's eyes were as black as coal.
“Ah, there you are my boy! You've always known how to make an entrance." He joked, laughing as he patted Theo's arm roughly and not long after his beady eyes landed on me, "and this lovely lady must be Fae.” He took my hand in his, bringing them close to his mouth as he planted his cold lips on top of my hand and every hair on my body stood up. “You have grown up to be quite the beauty.” He whispered, gazing up at me and I felt my head tilting slightly.
Am I reading to much into his words or did me mean something by it?
I didn't know what to think at the moment but for some odd reason I was getting bad vibes from him.
Theo cleared his throat, glaring at the old man and he finally released my hand. “Fae, let me introduce you to my Uncle, Dr. Hamlin.”
I bowed my head and gave him a sweet smile, “it’s a pleasure to meet you Mr. Hamlin.” I said softly, wanting to get away from this man that reeked of evil but I kept my composure in check.
He smiled wickedly, “the pleasure is all mine dear but please, call me Dr. H.”
