Katakuri POV

I watched Fae fall towards the water in slow motion. I felt my lips vibrating from the words leaving my mouth but I couldn’t comprehend what I was saying from the ringing in my ears. I was just about to stretch my arm into Mochi to catch her but the Sea King wrapped it’s tale around Fae before she hit the water. He slowly lifted her up with her entwined in his tale as he fondly gazed down at her limp body and soon after he gently laid her down softly on the deck of the ship.

The creature slowly shrunk in size as it began wrapping itself around her body protectively. I never seen a Sea King do that before.

I rushed to her side not really giving it a second thought and I extended my hand out to check on her but the Sea Snake hissed, baring it’s venomous fangs at me. He was warning me to back off. I tried to used Haoshoku Haki to make him pass out but he wasn’t intimated by me in the slightest.

I growled in frustration, about to strike the creature dead but I stopped inches away from slicing his neck. Fae gave it her all to save this creature. If I was to harm him now, all her efforts would have been in vain and she would never forgive me if she found him dead.

I could see her chest rise and fall softly and that enough to restrain the roaring beast within me that was desperately yearning for the taste of blood.

She was alive and unharmed, but unconscious, probably from using whatever power she just used. It must have token a lot out of her. I clutched my fist tight. I can’t believe I let my guard down so easily! If I was paying closer attention this would have never happened!

I focused all my anger building inside of me on the ship drifting towards us that caused this whole ordeal. I was even more outrage when I noticed the ship belonged to a sibling of mine but which one would be so careless to ordered the shot?

“Figure out a way to get Fae unraveled out of that snakes grasp without harming the creature and have the ships doctor do a check up on her.” I ordered my men.

“Yes, Captain!”

I soru from my ship to the shooters ship landing hard on the railing and tipping half the ship upwards. The men that came face to face with me trembled in fear from the raging aura that exuded from my body. “Who ordered that shot?!” I growled looking around for the culprit who was responsible.

“I did.” Oven said coming into view with a smug grin on his face. “Hmph,” He crossed his arms looking please with himself. “You should be thanking me for saving that girls life. I thought Mama made it very clear to you to keep her safe but, I guess you didn’t get the memo since you were just standing there.”

I gritted my teeth together, “all of Oven's subordinates, leave this deck now. I want to talk to my brother alone.” I calmly stated in a deadly manner. They scrambled around in a panic going under the deck of the boat in a hurry without hesitation.

“Do you have any idea what you just did?!” The look of horror on Fae’s face flashed across my mind making my blood run cold. “You put her life at risk by attacking that creature! It’s a miracle that it didn’t harm her in the process of you shooting it!”

“Why are you yelling at me?! She was in danger of getting eaten! I wasn’t expecting her to jump ship and save the damn thing but whatever, what’s done is done. What I’m more interested in is those powers of hers. You never mentioned in your report that she had devil fruit powers and she has healing abilities on top of that.”

“You moron!” I punched him hard on top of his head. “Do you take me for a fool?! Did you honestly think I wouldn’t notice you trying to change the subject! She wasn’t in any danger! I was on the ship! Are you trying to say I’m weak and that I can’t handle one Sea King if need be?! Are you trying to insult me?!” My voice boomed across the deck as Oven flinch downwards from the impact of my punch.

“Ouch!” He grunted grabbed his head where I hit him. “I’m sorry, brother. I didn’t mean to insult you in any way. I was just trying to help but you didn’t have to hit me!” He shouted back defensively.

I need to calm down, I’m not helping anyone by yelling and using violence. I took a step back taking a few deep sharp breaths cooling myself down a little.

“When she wakes up you owe her an apology. That creature was. . let’s just say it was a friend of hers.” I said calmly gaining my composer back.

“Fine,” he muttered continuing to rub the top of his head where I hit him. “Oh, stop whining, I didn’t hit you that hard.” I smirked behind my scarf. “I’m not whining! I was just thinking how you haven’t hit me like that since we were kids. She must be something special for you to overreact and hit me so violently.” He whispered under his breath.

“I heard that, smartass! And yes, she’s my friend.” Oven finally looked up at me seriously, “do you really think it’s wise to get emotionally attached to her?”

I narrowed my eyes at him, “what are you saying? You trying to tell me who I can and can not be friends with? Wow, you really are on a roll today.”

“I didn’t say that. Be friends with the girl for all I care but remember, your fraternizing with the enemy's sister.”

I nodded my head, “I know.”

“You know how this is going to turn out, Katakuri. Mama will ask Leon one more time to join her and if he says no. . Well you know what will happen.” Oven said waving it off.

I do know what will happen and I’m starting to regret bringing her along with me.
