Fae POV

I never seen so much blood before in my life but what bothered me more then anything was that Katakuri didn’t seem to be fazed by his out burst or that he nearly killed a man if I didn’t stop him. I mean what that guy did was wrong and he needed to be punished but death is never the answer. That’s what’s really bothering me.

I tried to enjoy my hot tea and the fancy desserts that were served to us as we sat together in silence but the people around us, siting at their own tables kept glancing over at us like we were some kind of amusing side show.

I put my tea cup down, feeling my stomach turning upside down when I caught a glimpse of the dry blood on Katakuri’s fist. I wanted to wrinkle my nose in disgust and when he caught me staring, he cleaned his knuckles off with a light pink napkin on the table.

“I’m sorry you had to see that.” He finally uttered to me. I was planning on just nodding my head in agreement but I couldn’t help but speak my mind, “you and your bother have something in common. Your apologizing for the wrong thing.”

He seemed conflicted by my words as he squinted his eyes, “What do you mean?”

“Katakuri, I’m not justifying to what that guy did but you can’t salve everything by killing. What are you going to do next time? Kill everyone and everything that I have a scuffle with?” I asked seriously.

I could see a small vein distend from the side of his temple, “I’ll kill anyone who so much as touches you.”

I snored, “you can’t do that.”

“Yes, I can.”

“No! You can’t!”

“Why, the fuck not?!”

“Because you just can’t, okay!” I glanced around, seeing that we were making a scene. I sighed, “I’m not stupid, Katakuri. Your family has a lot of enemies from what I learned so far and the only thing your doing, is painting an image that I am weak and that I can’t take care of myself. I don’t need you coming to my defense every time something happens.”

I didn’t have to look up at him to know he was fuming. “It’s my job to protect you.” He said in a low frightening voice.

“As a boyfriend, yes but only to a certain extent but to be honest, the only thing your doing is creating a target on my back.” I finally looked up at him meeting his eyes. “Thank you for coming to my defense but killing isn’t something I tolerate nor will I ever tolerate it so, please forgive me for saying this but the next time you want to come to my defense, please just don’t.” I said sternly not breaking eye contact.

More veins bulged on to his forehead, “what kind of man would I be if I left my girl to defend for her self?”

I sighed in frustration, “that’s exactly what I mean. You think I’m some weak girl that needs to be protected 24/7. I don’t need another Leon. I need a supportive boyfriend who treats me like his equal and trusts in me to handle my own battles.”

He looked at me as if I offended him. “I am nothing like Leon.” He hissed narrowing his eyes at me.

I raised an eyebrow, “how would you know? You know nothing about Leon and besides that’s not the point I was trying to get across.” I pinched the bridge of my nose. “I guess I’m just going to have to show you and prove to you that I handle most situations on my own.” I narrowed my eyes back at him.

“Fine, you said you wanted to spar with me, right? If you can fend me off then I’ll consider leaving you to your own battles but if I win. I don’t want anymore talk about you wanting me to back off on coming to your aid. I care for you, Fae. Your not going to easily convince me to back down, even if you can handle your own but I'll try to consider your feelings more, so do we have a deal?” He asked sternly crossing his arms.
