(Sorry for leaving you all hanging! I guess I should have posted part 2 along with it! My bad! Lol 😁)
Jinbe POV
“Princess. . Faelynn.” I mumbled in shock gazing in those unmistakable stormy soft grey eyes. Her eyes dilated and the blood drained from her face as she took a step back. She inhaled deeply and eventually she gave me a smile. “I’m sorry but you must have me mistaken for someone else. My name is Fae not Faelynn.” She said softly as the color slowly came back her beautiful face.
I blinked a few times and got a grasps on my emotions. She’s right, Princess Faelynn died almost two decades ago but she resembles Faelynn so much. “I-I’m sorry, you resemble someone I use to know.” I fumbled trying to wrap my head around the young woman in front of me.
“It’s okay, but I hope you find her. She seems to be someone very important to you.” She smiled kindly at me. She even has the Former Queen’s bright smile. I thought to myself but I shook that thought away. No, Faelynn was a Water Sprite and this woman doesn’t have any of those qualities. Even though she wasn’t born with a tail like her twin sister, Shirahoshi. She did have beautiful clear wings with light green fins around her ears and feet but clearly, this woman doesn’t have them.
I studied the young woman long and hard. She was fragile looking and small but she seemed strong and healthy. Only a handful of people knew about Faelynn and Shirahoshi sickness when they were both born and the Kingdom was left in the dark for months but eventually Shirahoshi got better but sadly, Faelynn didn’t. When she died it was a very dark day for the royal family and Neptune made it forbidden to speak of Faelynn's death for the sake of Queen Otohime.
Only and handful of soldiers including I, Neptune, Otohime, Minister of the right, and Minister of the left, knew anything about Faelynn but. . now that I think about it. I never did see the princesses body before she was buried but it still doesn’t prove anything.
I sighed, feeling an overwhelming sadness. “She was, but she died at a very young age.”
Her eyes filled with sorrow, “oh, I’m so sorry to hear that.”
It took me a moment to realize I had a pair of crimson eyes on me. Why is the second son of Charlotte Linlin, standing next to her? He was watching, no, more like absorbing the both of us closely. Even if she isn’t Princess Faelynn I had this strong impulse to want to keep her safe from the likes of this family.
The young woman called Fae circled around me, studying me from head to toe. “I know I have never met you before but I feel like I know you some how.” She admitted.
She feels it too.
“Jinbe, is well known all around the world, it’s possible you heard your brother mentioning him once or twice.” Katakuri crouched down, calmly placing his hands on her shoulders as he pulled her close to him.
She didn’t flinch or pull away from him, if anything she seemed quite comfortable around him which was not a very good thing. She needs to get away from this family and fast.
She shook her head. “No, Leon never talks about a pacific person unless it’s Sanosuke. Trust me, he’s very careful on that manner.” She stated seriously.
Leon? Wait. . is she talking about the pirate Leon? The one that Big Mama is infatuated with? So this is the woman everyone is talking about. I could feel a low growl trying to escape my throat and Katakuri shot me a warning glare. I was hoping I was wrong but that look was enough to confirm my fears. Her brother is the notorious pirate Leon and if that’s the case, then the feeling in my gut was wrong about who I thought she was but still.
“How old are you?” I asked her curiously, knowing that it’s not possible that she’s Princess Faelynn but I couldn’t shake this feeling deep in my gut that told me she was.
She tilted her head as if she was curious to why I was asking. “I’m 19. My birthday just past about seven weeks ago. May I asked, why-” She was interrupted mid-sentence when Katakuri wrapped his arm around her waist, lifting her up close to his chest. “Jinbe, I’m sorry but I’m going to have to cut this conversation short.” Katakuri grumbled walking away with her.
“Wait, Katakuri! I want to ask Jinbe if some of the stories the Sea King’s shared with me are true! I want know more about the Ryugu Kingdom and it’s people!” He ignored her protest. “Katakuri!” She protested trying to climb over his shoulder.
How unusual. I never seen Katakuri cling to anyone, let alone tease another human being. I must say it’s quite. . different but it’s more shocking to see someone brave enough to even playfully argue with him to begin with.
I watched them disappear in the distance and I left the Tea Party with a bunch of questions unanswered. I went to reunite with my crew under the sea and Aladine spotted me first. “Oi, Jinbe!” He waved grabbing everyone else’s attention but the smile slowly disappeared off his face when I got closer to him. “Why the long face, Captain?” He asked but I scanned my eyes across the faces in front of me until they landed on Praline.
“What do you know about the woman called Fae.” I asked her and she smiled iniquitously, crossing her arms. “She’s quite the beauty isn’t she but I’m sorry Jinbe, she is to be wedded to big brother Katakuri.”
I blushed, “that’s not why I’m asking!” I lashed out in embarrassment. She laughed, “I’m just teasing you. . but to answer your question. The poor girl is just bait to lure Leon to his death. Supposably, Mama wants Leon to submit to her but we all know Leon isn’t the submissive type.” She causally stated.
“I knew that much but why have her marry Katakuri if she’s just bait?”
“Because she’s special. I don’t know the whole story but supposedly she can command and communicate with Sea Kings and some other stuff like healing and mutilating water but now that I think about it, she sounds like one of us.” Praline rested her fingers on her chin, “to be honest I don’t know how it’s going to play out. I mean the poor girl has been trapped and isolated from the world her entire life and she believes she’s going to go home in a few weeks but since she hasn’t overreacted about what's going to happen with her brother or the wedding that’s suppose to be happen soon. I honestly don’t think Katakuri as told her anything."
She sighed, "It’s quite a shame actually, we can all tell he really likes her but he's going at it all wrong. He’s already screwing things up by keeping secrets from her but,” she shrugged her shoulders, “not my problem.”
I felt my eyes widen in shock. Princess Shirahoshi, if I remember correctly she has that same ability! It’s not a lot of proof but enough proof for me! I don’t know how it’s possible but I know Fae is Princess Faelynn!
“I need you to cover for me for a while.” I told Aladine who could since that something was seriously wrong.
He nodded his head and opened his mouth to say something but Praline interrupted him. “Well, don’t be gone to long, Big Mama’s plans are already in motion.” She laughed somewhat cruelly.
“What do you mean?” I asked her knowing I wasn’t going to like her answer.
“Once Morgan publishes today’s Tea Party. Leon will know where Fae is.” Praline crackled covering her lips with her fingers. “Big Mama is growing impatient and wants to speed things along.”
I nodded my head. Of course, I should have see this coming but it’ll take Leon quite some time before he reaches this island. “I’ll make it back before anyone notices I’m gone.”
Aladine nodded his head, “may I asked where your going, Captain?”
“I need to speak to king Neptune and if I’m right about who Fae actually is. . then be prepared because there just maybe an all out war.” I growled glaring off into the depths of the cold dark sea.
