It was the afternoon when Ruby and Luce were texting each other. Luce had just finished eating a few sweets, which could only mean one thing: the crackhead hours were coming.
Every time she had sugar, whether it'd be candy, desserts, or even sweet drinks, she would find that her humor differs after eating them. Funny things were still funny, but they became funnier. It was one of the reasons why candy was kept away from her, even at this age.
Luce was listening to music with her earbuds in when I Want It That Way by the Backstreet Boys started playing. Bobbing her head to the words, she randomly typed in the lyrics with a broken heart emoji at the end: Tell me why! Ain't nothin' but a heartache 💔
Ruby was flipping through Instagram when a notification popped up. She read the message and immediately knew where this was going. Playing along, she replied with a pencil emoji at the end: Tell me why!! Ain't nothin' but a mistake ✏️
When Luce got her message, she laughed as she followed along with a prohibited emoji: Tell me why!!! I never wanna hear you say 🚫
"Oh my gosh," Ruby said as she typed her message in all caps: I WANT IT THAT WAY
And at the same time, Luce sent hers: I WANT IT THAT WAY
Ruby practically burst out laughing. "Ugh, what are we doing? And why?" She asked herself as she knew her friend wouldn't be able to hear her. Deciding to finish it off, she texted her: I'm putting this on Instagram :)
After that, she screenshotted it and posted it on the gram with the caption: great minds think alike @prettyinpurple
