Chapter 31: Let's Celebrate

Lucas and I are talking just outside of my first period classroom. He was acting nice enough to walk me to class because he says what if I ran into Maxine on my way.

I told him it was okay, that I can handle Maxine own my own. He insisted on doing it anyway. He would rest his arm over my shoulder from time to time that I quickly push away and elbow his side.

"I will never let you walk me to class again." I told him as I lean at the door frame.

"Because you can't bare walking next to a hot specimen like me." He gestured his hand all over his body.

"No." I shook my head, displaying a disgusted expression. "Because you're a pervert."

"My hand has a mind of its own." He defended himself in a very unbelievable manner.

"Yeah, it has a perverted mind like its owner." I push him by his shoulder.

"You should be honored. A lot of girls are dying to be in your position." He huff towards me.

"Dying to be in my position?" I point to myself. "To be annoyed by you for 24 hours. I wish them all luck."

"That's not fair. I treat you nicely." He said.

"Nicely? I doubt that." I shook my head, disagreeing.

"I gave you a ride home yesterday. It was a nice gesture." He raise his brow at me.

"Then you rudely kicked me out of your car." I said harshly pointing a finger at him.

We continue to banter with each other and laugh from something absurd Lucas said. I saw Liam and Astrid talking as they walk together. I wonder how'd Damon will react about this when he finds out that they are hanging out.

"What are you looking at?" Lucas now standing next to me as he followed my gaze. He excessively nod when he found out whom I looking at. "You know that they're secretly dating right?" Lucas said.

I immediately covers his mouth and check the room if someone heard what he said. "You shouldn't say that out loud." I scold him.

He push my hand away and and scowl at the two publicly together. "Is there something wrong with my question?"

"No." I answered in a low voice. "Just as what you said, they're SECRETLY dating."

"And do you know that I've been against it since the day I found out about it." I snap my head towards him. He does look annoyed as he look at Liam and Astrid being together.

"I didn't know that." I told him. "But isn't she your cousin?"

"Yeah." He nodded.

"Then why?" I ask him. He stares at me with furrowed brow like I ask him a ridiculous question.

He didn't have the chance to answer it as Liam tap his shoulder. "Hey." He greets Lucas and me. Astrid gave us an acknowledging smile.

"Hi!" I greeted them both.

"What were you two talking about?" Liam ask with wiggling brows. He's probably thinking that Lucas is asking me out.

"Nothing." Lucas said giving a cold shoulder at his friend. "I should get to my class too." He announce. "I'll talk to you later, Ellie." He says and left.

I followed Lucas with my gaze just as he disappeared through the hallway.

"I should go ahead too." Astrid said. She gave Liam a squeeze in the hand before leaving herself.

I only observe Liam's expression as she did that. He was smiling to hard that it was the brightest smile I've ever seen him do.

"We should go in too." He was still wearing his smile as he gestured for me to go in first. I only nodded and went inside the our room.
