It All Started in Vegas

Chapter 2

Charlotte POV

While putting all four of us in the same room was definitely a money-saving move, trying to get all of us ready was a little bit of chaos. But, I wouldn't change it for the world.

We were in Vegas! For my 21st birthday! There was very little that I would have to complain about. I had Jenny help me curl my hair and do my makeup, due to the fact that she was ten times better at it than me.

I took a look in the mirror and barely recognized myself. My medium-length dark brown hair with chestnut highlights was curled, and sat right below my shoulders. She had teased it to give it some volume, and pinned it back. My makeup looked flawless, as Jenny gave me a smoky-eye, with black eyeliner and mascara, that made my blue eyes pop. I was so happy with the way I looked!

I gave myself one last glance, and then went back into the room to put on my outfit. All three of my friends were sitting on one bed, and they looked HOT.

On the left, we had Sarah. She had medium-length mahogany colored hair, which had a red tint to it, and it was pin straight. She was naturally pretty, so she didn't need a lot of makeup, but when she put it on, somehow it made her even prettier. She had on a light blue dress, which accented her figure perfectly. It wasn't too loose, but it also wasn't super tight. It had a v-shaped neckline that crossed in the front, and the scalloped bottom fell right about mid thigh.

In the middle, we had Jenny. She had on a dark pink strapless dress, which showed some cleavage, but was still modest. The fabric hugged her hips, and had a small slit in the side. She was the hair and makeup expert, so her face and hair looked flawless. Her bright blonde hair was curled, and fell above her shoulders in waves.

Lastly, we had Ashley. She had a naturally dark complexion, which her champagne colored dress complimented perfectly. The dress was tight, and had glitter on it. Ashley had a great figure, so the dress looked great on her. Ashley's hair was the longest out of all of us, falling to the middle of her back. It was dark brown with some blonde highlights, which looked great in her curls.

Seeing my friends made me feel a pang of jealousy. They all looked so gorgeous, and I was just me. I've never said this to them, but I have always felt as if I was the friend who constantly gets looked over. The one who has a "great personality", but constantly gets the question, "Hey who's your friend?" I wouldn't trade my friends for the world, and it's not their fault they get the attention, but sometimes it was a little much.

I forced myself to push those thoughts aside. Tonight is my night, and I look and feel gorgeous. Each of my friends had a small smile on their faces, which I thought was strange, until I looked at the other bed and saw a wrapped gift box on it.

"Open it!" all of the girls said at once.

I laughed and ripped the paper off, opening the box. I let out a small gasp when I looked at the contents. Inside was a white sash with gold lettering that said "FINALLY 21". Under that was one of the prettiest dresses I had ever seen. It was a lavender color, which just so happened to be my favorite. It had spaghetti straps that went over my shoulder, and a deep v neckline that was a little low, but still acceptable. The dress was tight, which usually wasn't my style, but due to how pretty the dress was, I was okay with it.

I hurriedly put the dress on and had Sarah zip me up. The dress hugged my hips, and fell about mid-thigh. Needless to say, I loved it. I paired it with a pair of nude heels, and looked at my friends.

"Thank you guys, so much, for all of this."

"Of course Char, we love you!" Ash said as they all hugged me at once.

I felt something cold in Jenny's hand while I hugged her, and she threw me a sly grin. Pulling it out from behind her back, I realized it was a Smirnoff Ice. I threw on my sash, chugged the drink, and we were out the door.

I smiled, thinking to myself, "Tonight is going to be the best night."
