Jake POV

The entire time we're at the club, I'm looking at the door, waiting for the girls to walk in. Not only did I want to see Charlotte, but I needed to talk to Ashley. Ever since I got the idea in my head, I haven't been able to think about anything else. I have to know how Charlotte is feeling, and the only way to know that is to talk to Ashley. I see the doors open, and my eyes immediately snap to the door. Unfortunately it's a group of guys around our age, and I huff in annoyance.

"Dude, calm down, they're coming," Aiden says to me, as he hands me another beer.

I take a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. I turn my back to the door and talk to my friends, hoping that it would pass the time quicker. I felt a light tap on my shoulder, and turned around quickly hoping to see Charlotte. My face falls a little as I realize it's not her.

"Well, I don't usually get that reaction so quickly," she says with a small laugh.

I immediately feel embarrassed, "I am so sorry! I wasn't reacting to you, I was just lost in my thoughts," I said, lying, but it wasn't her fault I reacted that way. I took a moment to look at her. I'm not going to lie, she was very attractive. She looked me up and down before responding, "That's okay, you're hot enough for me to let it slide," with a flirtatious smile.

I laughed a little; she was bold, very different from Charlotte. "Oh really?"

"Well duh. So do you want to dance?"

Before I could even think, I replied, "I'm really sorry, but I'm actually waiting for someone."

"Well, let me know if they don't show," she said with a smile and a wink as she walked away. I sighed, thinking about what just happened. I just turned down a girl who wanted to dance with me, for a girl who I'm not sure is even into me. Yeah, we've had a couple of moments, but I don't know how she truly feels. As the bold girl walked away, Charlotte entered my view, and I immediately remembered why I said no to that dance.

She looked gorgeous, wearing a shade of green that I thought no one could pull off. But, for some reason, Charlotte seemed to change any preconceived notions I may have. The minute I saw her, I felt a smile creep up on my face. I expected her to walk up to me, but instead she walked straight past me and to the guys, giving each of them a hug and a warm welcome, and immediately went to the bar to order a drink. What the hell just happened?

I turned to her friends, a puzzled look taking over my face. Each of them looked at me like they were about to rip my head off, and I knew something was up. I grabbed Ashley by her elbow and pulled her away from the group. "Do you want to fill me in on what's going on?"

"Well, when we walked in, she saw you laughing with that girl. Guess she didn't like that very much," Ashley said coldly.

I laughed loudly, only to realize she was serious. "Ashley, that girl came up to me, flirted with me, and asked me to dance. I told her no, because I was waiting for someone. That someone just so happens to be Charlotte," smiling when I said her name.

Her face visibly softens, and she gives me a small smile. "Oh thank God, I thought I was going to have to kill you!"

"Well, I guess that answers my question then."

"What question?"

"I was going to ask you how Charlotte felt about me," I said sheepishly, scratching the back of my neck.

Ashley just smirked at me, "Well, if you don't know how she feels, you're an idiot. She's obviously interested in you."

"I was hoping you'd say that," a wide smile taking over my face.

"Yeah, well you better find a way to do something about it, because we all leave tomorrow," Ashley said, seriousness in her voice.

"Well, that's what I wanted to talk to you about... I know we said we weren't going to talk about college on this trip, but where do you guys go to school?"

"We all go to Ole Miss, in Oxford, Mississippi."

"No fucking way."

"What?" Ashley said getting defensive, "What's wrong with going there? It's a great school, and Ox is a great town, why -"

I cut her off by showing her my Instagram, which says "Ole Miss '21" in the bio space.

"No way! Are you kidding me? This is fantastic! Does Kyle go there too?" She asks, hope filling her voice.

I chuckle, "Yes he does, now you two can see each other alllll the time," I said, dragging out the word.

"Shut up," she said swatting my shoulder. All of a sudden, my eyes got wide, and I looked at Ashley smiling. "What's the plan?" She asks, reading my mind.
