Jake POV

I stood outside of Charlotte's door, nervous about our day together. I wondered if she would even like any of the things I had planned for us. I put a lot of thought into it, so I really hope she likes it. Well, it's now or never right? Nervously, I knocked on her door, and a couple of moments later it swung open. The first thing I noticed was the huge smile on her face, which immediately put me at ease. The second thing I noticed was her St. Louis Cardinals tank top, which made me chuckle due to the fact I was wearing my Cubs t-shirt.

As we made our way to our first stop, Charlotte and I just made light conversation. It amazed me how easy she was to talk to. I felt like I could trust her with anything, which is probably due to the fact that I won't see her after tomorrow, so it didn't really matter what I told her. When she realized we were at TopGolf, her face lit up. As we were walking in, she mentioned something about how competitive she was, but looking at her golf swing I tried not to laugh. When she gave me a death glare, I decided to get up and help her. I placed my hands on her hips, positioning them. When I touched her, it felt like electricity bolted through my entire body. Then when I helped her swing, the look on her face was one of the most adorable things I had ever seen.

My next surprise was ziplining on Freemont Street. I was a little worried that she would be afraid of heights, but seeing her on that zipline, I knew she wasn't. Her smile was brighter than any of the lights in this place, and I made that happen. Next, we went to the shark tank. She looked at the sharks in awe, and then turned to me. "How did you know I love sharks?" she asked in amazement.

"I may have done my homework," I said, winking at her. To end the day, we rode the roller coaster on top of the New York New York hotel. Remembering what I read, I suddenly felt nervous. I wanted this plan to go perfectly. We got into the roller coaster, pulling down our lap bars. All of a sudden, the ride took off. Charlotte was right, sitting in the front car made you able to see everything. While seeing the entire Vegas strip was one benefit of sitting in front, it also made me able to see the hill at the end of the roller coaster, which is where the camera was. As we approached the hill, I used my hand to turn her face towards mine, and I kissed her. At first, she was shocked, but then she returned the kiss. I had wondered how it would feel, but it was even better than that. I think I might be in trouble. We got off of the roller coaster, and I bought us each a copy of the picture.

After getting off of the roller coaster, we headed back to our hotel. Charlotte hadn't said anything, so I wasn't really sure how she was feeling. I can't believe I just kissed her without asking! She probably hates me now.

As if she was reading my mind, she turned to me and said, "Jake, thank you so much for today. It was amazing, really. It's been the best day ever."

"Really?" I asked. I was smiling like a maniac, but I don't even care.

"Yes, really. Although I do have to ask, how did you know when the camera was there?"

"Well, I kind of looked up some stuff about the roller coaster last night, and saw something about the camera.." I said, scratching the back of my neck. That's always been my nervous tick, and right now, I was nervous as hell. I looked to my left to see Charlotte wasn't next to me, and turned around to see her standing there looking as if she was about to cry. I immediately started to apologize. "Charlotte, I'm so sorry. If I would've known you didn't want that, then I would've never done it. I'm so sor-" I stopped myself from ranting when she started to shake her head.

"No no no. That's not it. I wanted that. I wanted you to do that. It's just, this. This whole day. It's the sweetest thing that anyone has ever done for me," she said, wiping some stray tears.

Seeing her this way broke my heart. All I wanted to know was who hurt her, and why she was never treated the way she should be. I walked over to her, taking her face in my hands, and said "Charlotte, this is how you should be treated all the time. You deserve the world, nothing less." I couldn't help myself, so I leaned in and kissed her. If today was my last day with her, I was sure as hell going to make the most of it.
