Jake POV

When we came to Vegas, it was a boy's trip: a little way to blow off steam before we all started our senior year of classes. The boys and I saw a group of three girls at the check-in desk on our way back from dinner, and while we all took the time to check them out, I wasn't really interested. Don't get me wrong, they were all pretty hot, but for some reason I just wasn't really drawn to them, you know? With that being said, my boys were definitely interested.

The entire way up to our room, they talked about how hot the girls were. So when we saw them at the club that night, I couldn't help but smile at the fact that the boys might have a shot. Mason and Ryder both had pretty serious girlfriends, so they were out of the running. That left Caleb, Kyle, Aiden, and I single, and seeing as I wasn't really interested, it worked out perfectly. I sat at the bar, drinking my beer, while I watched the guys approach the girls from the lobby. I smirked to myself as they all started to dance together, applauding the boys for making a move.

While I was sitting by myself, I took a second to look around the bar. There were a ton of people in this club, so I just wanted to take it all in. My eyes scanned around the room, until they landed on a girl. She had her back to the bar, and a drink in here hand. When I saw her, I just got this kind of feeling, you know? That feeling that let's you know that you're not only attracted to someone, but you're also interested in getting to know them. I hadn't gotten a feeling like that since my ex, so this was all foreign to me.

She seemed innocent, and from looking at her, she was definitely my type. She had brown hair, and a tan complexion. She looked absolutely incredible in her purple dress, which was definitely her color, and she had on a birthday sash. Well I guess I knew how I would start my conversation. It wasn't until I walked up to her that I noticed her blue eyes. They were the kind that reminded you of the ocean, and you could just kind of get lost in.

After buying her a drink, and talking to her for a little bit, I realized that she was actually with the girls that my friends were interested in. Small world, huh? But what she didn't realize is that they were dancing with my friends. I realized that I could have some fun with this, and acted as if I didn't know them. I offered to go check on her friends, and I saw a look of confusion, and what almost looked like disappointment, come across her face as I walked away.

I walked over to the boys, as they shouted my name and each of them gave me a bro hug. I smiled and looked at the girls they were with, who now just looked at me in confusion.

I leaned over to them and said, "So, you're friend up at the bar, she's not like, with anyone, is she?"

They all looked at her, and then back at me. The one with the long hair answered, "No, she isn't," a smirk on her lips.

"Perfect, thanks." I flashed them all a smile, and then made my way back up to the birthday girl.

She looked extremely confused, so I decided to fill her in, and once she pieced it together, she laughed. Let me tell you, that was a sound I could get used to. All of a sudden the song changed, and I could see her eyes light up with excitement. She apologized, and told me that she had to go dance to this song, and for some reason I felt the urge to go with her, so I did.

I stood there for a second, just taking her in. She swayed her hips to the music, like she didn't have a care in the world. I let out a small chuckle, and pulled her close to me. I could feel her body tense, due to the fact that she didn't know who I was, but after getting a small nod from her friend, she started to dance with me.

Once the song had ended, I decided to put an end to her wondering. As the next song started to play, I spun her around so she was facing me. She smiled up at me when she finally knew who I was. I towered over her petite 5'2 figure, and kind of really enjoyed our height difference. While we made conversation, I couldn't help but think how I wanted to know more about her. I don't know what it was that made me feel this way, but I was curious to find out.

Her arms left my neck as the song came to an end, and I took a second to talk to my friends while the birthday girl talked to hers. They all made fun of me, bringing up the fact that I said I "wasn't interested" back at the hotel. I shrugged them off, pointing out that we hadn't seen her at the hotel. Speaking of, where was she?

I turned my head, and immediately locked eyes with her as she was heading out the door. I pushed my way through the crowd, trying to get to the door before she left. By the time I got outside, they were already in a cab. It wasn't until then that I realized I forgot to ask what her name was.
