"Midnight date?" I repeated those exact words confusingly like it's the first time it had slipped out of my mouth while letting the fork stay on the bottom of my lips. My face turn beed red for sure, shit midnight date! kinilig ako. Midnight date! Who would fucking plan that?
I cleared my throat as she brew coffee for me. Ugh, alam niyo, the people around me sure knows the shortcut path all the way thru my heart-ano pa nga ba? coffee. Masyado bang halatang adik ako sa kape? Hindi naman, ah.
"Yep, a date." Ahiera nods her head twice before smiling-a close mouthed smile, which reminded me of Luisia, that's my bestfriend's infamous trademark-but Ahiera manage to pull it off on her own way. May sarili kasi siyang paraan para madaling makapasok sa puso ko. Wow cornyyy.
"Sorry nakatulog kasi tayo kaagad kaya midnight date muna." Ugh. Cute.
"You don't need to be so charming while saying that," I said slightly laughing. Her blush instantly appears. "Yeah you're charming," I added, not looking at her.
Nahiya ata sa akin, she's momentarily stunned. Halata ko, dahil sa hindi niya pagkilos. I'm kinda pleased with my chosen word, and uh? Does everything stopped or was it just me? My heart and I? Abnormal na ba ako?
"Baliw kanina kapa-"
"I'm sure you don't mind me complimenting you, right?"
Her eyes rolled heavenwards, it's so...sexy but then I laugh.
At this moment I really thought of confessing. I found a perfect timing. Dalawa lang kami, tahimik and we could actually talk about this.
Bigla akong kinabahan. Naramdaman ko pa ngang nanlalamig ang mga kamay ko.
I licked my lips and called her.
As she turned around and smiled I...I chickened out. Shit! Takot na takot ako! Nakakakaba pala 'to sobra!
"Hoy? Ano kako 'yun?"
"I...a-ano uhm.." My gazed landed on every part of her face but her eyes, natatakot ako sa paraan ng tingin niya sakin. Parang binabalatan niya ako ng buhay.
"Parang tanga ka d'yan."
"Wait lang kasi! I'm about to say I li-"
Couple of knocks beats me to it.
Our gaze shifted faster than thunderbolts. Who the fuck would knock on her door this late?
Oh, nasa dorm nga pala kami.
Aheira looked as confused as me. "Hindi uuwi rito ang dorm mate ko ng lasing, malilintikan kami pareho."
"Then who would this be?"
The person behind the door became desperate on knocking. Sabay kami napatayo, at mula sa kusina nagmadali kaming pumunta sa pintuan, nagturuan pa kami kung sino ang magbubukas.
"Ikaw na!" Tulak ko.
Pinandilatan niya muna ako ng mata bago niya binuksan, punyeta hindi manlang dinahan-dahan baka mamaya may baril na palang nakatutok sa kan'ya.
Thankfully wala namang baril. Just a drunk woman whom I guess also own this place. Dorm mate niya ata 'to.
"Vivien?" Ahiera says.
Ow, was that her roommate's name? I thought Lexin? Or Lexi. Whatevs it's far from vivien anyway.
"Vivien? Shit anong nangyare? Umayos ka nga!"
Muntik na akong matawa sa itsura ni Ahiera, she's panicking, pansin ko lang, lagi siyang nag-papanic kapag lasing ang kasama. I think maybe because she can't handle a drunk person? But I've been drunk with her, hindi naman siya gano'n kataranta.
