Chapter 45; I Swear

Few hours earlier

*Hawks POV*

I could feel my heart pound as I texted Shigaraki and Touya about what I had heard. Of course, Touya went bat shit crazy. However, Shigaraki just said to meet him at the bar.

When I did get there, Shigaraki had this twisted smile on his face. In all honesty, it fucking scared me. The only other people in the room were Toga and Twice.

"I knew we were going to have to do this soon, but I wasn't thinking this soon." Shigaraki muttered. In the center of the room was a chair with a small board hanging from it. I gave him a questioning look, but he didn't answer.

"Would you be fine with some quick measurements?" Twice asked pulling a measuring tape from his wrist. I glanced over at Toga who I probably trusted the most in the room and she nodded. So I did as well.

After just a few minutes, I was staring straight into my own eyes, but this one was tied down to the chair. The board was now hanging from my, his, whatever, neck. I looked to Toga who was talking to Twice.

"How much pain can I inflict onto it before it melts?" She asked with an obvious chirp. Twice thought about it before shrugging.

"I don't know, broken limb will do." It still freaked me out slightly when he did that, but I would live.

"So, what exactly are we doing here?" I asked slowly. Toga turned to me with a giant smile.

"We're faking your death silly. You know, it's so easy to do when you have a camera and a person who can make clones. We've done it before." She said as if I was some sort of stupid kid.

"Wait, so F-"

"No, he's dead. We just faked his death for the public first." She said, pulling out a knife before turning to the clone. "Now, where should I start?" She looked back to me and I shook my head.

"I don't really want to watch you cut into an exact replica of me. It just feels a little, sicking." She thought about it for a second before frowning and standing back up completely.

I heard the door open and turned to see Touya walk through the door. When he saw me, his expression became unreadable before turning his attention to the clone.

"So this is your big plan? Fake a death?" He asked, not tearing his eyes from the clone.

"Well, yeah. If they're sending the number one to kill the number two, best way to fix that is make it seem that we killed him." Shigaraki shrugged. He then pointed to the clone. "Burn it. Just a bit. We need to make him look a little roughed up."

Touya's eyes widened and I watched as he walked behind the clone and grabbed a hold of it's wings.

"Wait." I stopped him. He looked up to me and I continued. "Just, let me get out of the room first. Please. I don't want to loose my mind." He gave me a sympathetic look before nodding.

"Of course. Whatever you want birdie." Without another word I left the room, heading into Touya's.

I didn't know the clones could feel things, and I didn't want to know. But that info was forced onto me when I heard a scream identical to my own from the room over. I held my hands to my ears tightly. It didn't stop, groans and moans of pain came from the room over. But they were all mine.

Within a few minutes, the door opened.

*Dabi POV*

I couldn't watch Toga cut up the clone. Hell, just when I was burning it I felt this overwhelming urge to stop myself. I didn't look back at the clone while walking back to my own room. To my actual bird.

When I went inside, I didn't see him imediently. He was sat on the ground with his wings curled around himself.

"Hey birdie, you alright?" He jumped, looking up at me.

"Yeah, I'm alright." He said, allowing his wings to relax. "Just a little weird." He shuttered. He slowly stood back up glancing at me. When he stood up completely, he placed one hand on the wall to balance himself.

He slowly straightened himself up and walked over to me, laying his head on my shoulder. I lifted my hand up to his head and ran my fingers back through his hair.

"This is all just fucking up my head. I just need a minute." He said, closing his eyes. He continued to stay there for a few more minutes before I heard his breathing slow. Did he just fucking fall asleep on me? Fucking bitch!

I sighed, he really needed to sleep. What was I supposed to do? I slowly lifted him up slightly so his head was still resting on my shoulder. I was able to get him onto my bed, but before I could let him go, he snapped his eyes open and grabbed onto my sleeves tightly.

"What the fuck!" He yelped, jumping slightly.

"Are you okay now?" I smirked at him as he didn't release my jacket. His eyes furrowed, staring up at me. He nodded, letting go of me and draped one wing overtop of himself.

"Yeah, I'm just going to, take a nap." He muttered, closing his eyes once more. Before I left the room, I pressed my lips against his forehead.

"Okay. So I've talked it over with Kurogiri and split everyone up." Shigaraki said to our small group. The clone was in another room. "Hawks and Aruna will be staying here. We don't want either seen, especially if we want to fake his death.

"Dabi, we need you and Toga to be the head of the attack on the Hero's Commission building. Twice will be bringing clones to the festival." He then turned to Twice and continued. "Keep everyone trapped there. We don't want the pros to stop Dabi and Toga."

"Yes sir! Why do those bastards get to stay here?" Twice yelled/muttered. Usually, we ignored that, but this time Shiga actually responded.

"Hawks can't be seen yet, we're trying to convince everyone that he's dead. The public can't know about Aruna either, she'd get kicked out of UA." He snarled before continuing.

"I will also stay here, for, obvious reasons. Hawks and Aruna can help around here for a bit. Hell, maybe I'll send Aruna to that damn festival just so it isn't super suspicious. I will come out later to the commission building, so just don't get killed and make sure no one escapes. Kill a few if you have too."

That was all that was said before he left the room, leaving me, Toga, Aruna and Twice with nothing to do. Sure, we may be a League of Villains, but we still get super bored super quick.

I stood up next, much to Toga's displeasure.

"Hey, no where are you going? We could play a board game!" Honestly, she was the most childish one here.

"Checking on the bird. I'll be back."

When I did get back into the room, he was still sleeping on the bed. I don't know how long I stood there, but I didn't move until I heard Toga say something about how we needed to get going.

Before I actually left, I walked over to Keigo and placed one hand on his shoulder with a smirk.

"I will keep you safe." I said to him even though he couldn't hear me.

"I swear."
