*Hawks POV*

"Hello Little Birdie. Nice to see you wanted to join us, huh?" I felt my blood run cold. There was no way that this villain was my soulmate, right? No, it had to have been a coincidence.

I had saw something going on down the alleyway while watching out for night patrol. I heard the plea of a man and came to see what was up. However, I hadn't expected to see Dabi. I had never had to fight him face to face, but I guess now I had too. He wasn't going to just let me go like that man. I had a Target on my back, he knew that if I got away I would alert the police.

The words that came from his mouth made my wrist sting, but that was probably just my imagination. No one had ever talked about feeling something when their soulmate said their words.

A second blast of blue fire burst through the alleyway. This one was fast, but I was faster. I zoomed out of the way, watching his every movement. This fight wasn't going to be fair at all. Just a game cat and mouse, and it was pretty obvious who was who. Despite this, I wasn't going to be put down that easily.

One feather, one singular small feather, zoomed straight up away from me. A second one made a beeline towards him, but that one was burnt to a crisp. I knew that was going to happen. It was hard to see in the darkness, but I knew where he was. Whenever he light a flame and sent it spiraling at me, he would light the entire alleyway for a few seconds. Honestly, it was beautiful.

"Aww, come on pigeon, you can do better than that." He teased. I was grounded. If I was to fly, he could easily catch me. He wouldn't allow me to fly high enough to be able to alert anyone that something was wrong.

As the fight continued, I was getting sloppy. I felt the heat rush past me while I dodged. If I could just make him shoot a little higher up.

With the first feather I had sent up, I made it zoom down towards him. Dabi was none the wiser. That was, until the feather hit him right in the face. I heard it collide with skin and metal and he held his cheek with one hand.

After a few seconds of holding his cheek, he pulled away. Before he even took his hand off completely, he started chuckling before burning the feather to ash behind him.

"That's what I'm talking about." Suddenly he shot his hand away from his face towards me and a huge burst of flames followed his motion. In a split second, I was in the sky trying to escape. However, just as I had believed, a second blast was sent right near my head. The sudden heat caused me to fall to the ground, clutching my neck which had been most effected by the blow.

Before I could sit up, I felt something on my waist pinning me down. Without trying to push away, I opened my eyes and looked up being met with a beautiful blue.

"Can you speak?" Dabi asked. He had one hand by the burned side of my neck and the other near one of my wings. I could be dead in a matter of seconds if he wanted me to be. I looked back up and saw that some of the medical staples had been ripped out, probably from my feather. The burned skin was barely staying right where it was.

"Well, can you speak? Come on, it's no fun if you don't beg." He said still on my waist.

"It's you." I muttered. His eyes widened and his face contorted into a look of hatred.

"What did you say Birdie?"

"It's you." I said again. Dabi was giving me a wide eyed horrified expression. I felt my heartbeat quicken. Did he realize what's going on? He had to, he's a psychopath, but obviously not an idiot.

"It's you, huh?" He bent down and whispered into my ear. A deep chuckle rumbled from his throat and my breathing got faster. I felt one hand start moving from beside me towards my own hand, picking it up. He then sat up taking the weight off his hands and setting it completely onto my waist. I was frozen.

Slowly, he started to pull the black glove off of my hand. Without hesitation, he intertwined his fingers with mine. For a split second I had thought that he was burning me. It felt like it, really hot, like he was trying to roast my hand. But instead of pain it felt, nice?

Without letting go of my hand, he looked back at me with a smile. The smile freaked me out making me feel like I was in grave danger. On a second thought, I probably was.

"Get off." I said stiffly. "Get off of me now." He looked back down at me and shook his head slowly.

"Where are your words pigeon?" He asked not breaking eye contact. I gestured to the arm he was holding with my other hand and he rolled back my sleeves. In the night you couldn't see it, but a small fire was ignited to light the area. There on my wrist was a feather, covered in flames. Yet the feather still looked perfect and intact.

"Well, looks like I've finally found you." Dabi let go of my hand and the burning felling stopped. As soon as my hand stopped burning, I felt two hands on my throat holding me still. "It was nice to meet you, it's a shame that you've done this to me. You seem like a nice guy."

Without a warning, he let go of my neck and walked away, leaving me in shock on the ground. When I stood up, he was gone. He was gone, and I felt lonely. I longed for that burning feeling, but I couldn't have it.
