“What’s this surprise?” I whispered to Gemma when we sat down for pancakes.

“Can’t tell you,” She smiled.

We ate for about ten minutes when the door opened. “I think it’s here,” Anne smiled before standing up and walking to the front door. I heard two people talking in a low whisper, too low for me to recognize who it was. I shook my head and kept eating, but soon Anne walked in.

“Audrey,” She said. I looked up and saw the surprise. I dropped my fork onto the plate and my mouth hung open.

“Hi,” Harry squeaked.

AUDREY’S POV

“H-Harry,” I finally said after what felt like hours of just awkward stares, everyone’s eyes flickering from me to Harry.

“Your hair,” He pointed to it, smiling. “I like it. It fits you,” He said, his body still tense.

“Thanks,” I muttered.

“Can I talk to you?” He asked, but it sounded more like he was pleading. I looked at Anne, who was nodding her head, and so was Gemma. Robin gave me a small smile and I sighed. I leaned on the table to help myself stand up and walked into the living room, Harry following me.

“When did you do that to your hair?” He asked, taking a seat across from me on the couch.

“Last night,” I said.

“I know, I saw the picture,” He whispered. “I don’t know where to start, Audrey,” He sighed, leaning back on the couch. He was wearing that damn green sweater that hurt every time I saw it because it was the same shade of his eyes.

“I miss you,” I said. “I know it’s only been a few days but it feels like…” I trailed off.

“Forever,” He finished for me. I nodded, wiping under my eyes. I knew I wasn’t crying but I felt like I still had to check for tears. “Just so you know, I was at our home alone while you were gone. And the doctor called, he needs to see you. You need to come home, Audrey. It’s empty without you there.”

“I might look okay, but I’m not fine anymore, Harry,” I said sternly. “You hurt me so badly,” I whispered. “Just tell me why you did it.”

“I was out with the boys after the signing and they had all left, but I wanted to stay. I’m admitting to this, Audrey, she didn’t throw herself at me. I was drunk and I threw myself at her, and I know it was so stupid of me, it was one of those decisions I regretted as soon as it was over. I just wish I would have noticed it sooner.”

“You called me a slut when we were at Dan’s house. Bailey heard that, she heard everything. Did you know we were the only good couple she ever saw? She doesn’t remember my parents, you know that! We were doing so well and you slipped and fell into vagina and boom, she thinks every relationship out there is worth shit. Why did you even call me that?”

He gulped. “Another one of those decisions you regret immediately, I didn’t mean it. Look at you; you aren’t a slut at all. You aren’t anything but perfect and I love you.”

“Then why did you do it, Harry? What makes you think you can cheat on me and then call me a slut for kissing someone?” I shouted, and I heard Anne take a deep breath. I can’t even believe I’m saying this.

He took a deep breath and swallowed. “Look, I don’t know what you want me to say anymore,” He sighed. “You know you can’t do this alone, I know you can’t because I can’t either. I know we only met, like, five months ago but somehow I’m more in love with you than I am with anyone else, Audrey,” He pleaded. “I just… I don’t know who I would be without you.”
