Steven's POV:
There's been a lot of things I have conquered in my life. My thoughts of how I had to be as great as my mother Rose Quartz, to live up to everyone's expectations. What a load of crap that turned out to be. Finding out my mom was Pink Diamond and she faked her shattering for a war that couldn't of existed in the first place. I understand family is family, but my mother doesn't feel like it to me.
I was told so many times that I could be a great leader to the Crystal Gems, and I'm pretty sure I've succeeded in that mission. Gems like Lapis, Bismuth and Peridot used to be my enemies but now they are my best friends. The diamonds have finally realized I'm not Pink Diamond, nor would I ever want to be.
But in all of that, there was serious trauma caused to me. To a point I became a literal monster. I'll never forget that day, I didn't think I'd ever stop crying. I just let it all out for everyone to see without anymore care of hiding the truth.
Beach City begins to fade away in the distance of my rear view mirror. So many memories, good and bad. Now it was time to leave it all behind and find myself. I glance up at the picture that hangs on my dash. Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, Lapis, Bismuth, Peridot, Connie and Dad. The last time we were together.
A tear begins to leak down my cheek before I catch it, even if it was happy tears. I knew I had to do this, for myself. Hopefully wherever the road takes me I'll find myself and who knows. Maybe I could come back home.
One final touch of the picture, I smile. "I'll see you guys again soon, I promise."
