Deidara and Izuka soared high above the village. While Deidara was noting the sky guards, Izuka searched for the Kazekage's tower. As she looked around, memories of the Chuunin exams passed through her thoughts.
"Deidara, he's going to notice you. Why didn't you let me take care of them?"
"Don't mock my art," Deidara said as they hopped off the bird and onto the Kage tower. "Infiltration successful."
Sensing a presence they looked up seeing Gaara looking down at them. From behind sand came towards them aiming to kill. Deidara jumped back up onto his bird while Izuka jumped onto another building. Gaara controlled the sand to follow Deidara and Izuka. The sand caught up to Izuka causing her to block it with a sword but it was futile, it started to pull the sword from her grip. Deidara swooped down from the sky grabbing Izuka's waist pulling her up onto his bird. Gaara jumped onto the sand floating in the air.
"You knew it was me....un..." Deidara said as he flew eye level to Gaara.
"In this desert no bird like that exists,"
"Told you he would notice," Izuka scolded.
"Hey, at least we don't need to search for him. Now let me face him Izuka; take care of anyone who tries to interfere."
"Got it," Izuka said jumping off the bird and onto a building.
Izuka watched as Gaara summoned a tsunami of sand making it surround Deidara. He easily dodged the sand and sent birds towards Gaara. From behind more sand came closing itself around Deidara.
"Idiot," Izuka scoffed.
As the sand trapped Deidara, Izuka looked behind her seeing some villagers gathering outside watching the fight. A huge explosion was heard from above. Deidara came flying out of the dome plummeting towards the ground. Gaara sent sand towards Deidara grabbing his arm crushing it in the process. Deidara sent more birds towards Gaara and landed on his original bird holding his 'masterpiece'.
Izuka saw Baki and Kankuro giving orders to sand shinobi. She then jumped down in front of them causing them to gasp.
"Who are you?" Kankuro shouted in anger.
"Your opponent," Izuka replied with an emotionless voice and an expression to match it. She didn't care for the Sand.
"Kill her," Kankuro commanded pointing at Izuka.
All the shinobi ran towards Izuka with weapons wielded. She drew her sword as they approached. Once they got close enough she deflected all of their kunai with one swung of her sword. Swiftly, she ran through the crowd of shinobi swinging her sword at them striking them down one by one. In a flash she was in front of Kankuro who look bewildered.
