°The 1st of January, Year 2024.
A night turns into a week-a month-a year, then fast forward to three.
Alexa steps into Petro's office, closing the door behind her. She goes to stand before his desk, facing him and staring him down at the height of 5ft, 8in. Phillipeño stands by her side, hands tucked away in the baggy pockets of his gray sweats, taller by 4in.
"You're here on time." Petro states, clasping his hands before him.
"As usual." Alexa retorts. She just came back from a blue tagged call and, within seconds, she had changed into her old peach nightgown that now catches her mid-thigh. The silky material clings to her hips and has a habit of riding up sometimes, but being Alexa, she doesn't let the maturity of her body concern her and with protruding nipples, she'll walk around nonchalantly. Petro will definitely soon grow tired of this.
"How was it?" He asks.
"A success."
Phillipeño rolls his blank eyes beneath his closed lids, impatiently waiting for the old Russian man to get on with the reason he called them to his office. Phillipeño has grown a lot; in martial arts, in visualizing and he grew quiet. After all, Alexa told him to stop caring and he never spoke to anyone else except for her. He's also not a robot capable of flipping a switch for his emotions. So, he instead stayed away from her as much as he could, feigning ignorance. Half the time he's unable to see her; that also works. She has avoided him completely for three years and only shows up when they are called together. His anxious kindness wilted and more than ever, he's now irritable.
Petro clears his throat, "So, as you know, I have told you before, it's five years of training before becoming a graduate. You'll be a full-fledged assassin and you'll be working for me, freely. As in, a job that pays you, while you're living however you please on the side." He tells them in one breath, before asking, "What would you like to do after graduating?"
"Go to school." Alexa says in a flash. The basic studies that Petro has been specially giving them have made her more determined to broaden her education and it's truly inspiring, because she's never been to school before. Her heart flutters.
"Nice choice?" Petro is unsure, thinking solemnly, 'major studies, plus a job that she'd need to drop what she's doing to get done...? Wouldn't that be a bit too harsh for her?' He looks over at the boy. "Phillipeño?"
"I dunno." He states flatly.
Before the man sitting in his black, leather armchair behind his desk can respond to that, Alexa speaks up unexpectedly, surprising the two males.
"Well, you have to do something." She says to Phillip for the first time, turning her gaze upon him.
'What the-?' He immediately starts analyzing the situation. Is she just so passionate about graduating that she forgot she's supposed to be ignoring him? Or, does she feel like talking now? 'Is she for real?'
He grunts dismissively, "I dunno."
