Lizzie talked my ear off the entire way to the restaurant. I partially listened, tuning out the part about her love life. She met this new guy, Robbie something or other, and was absolutely smitten.
I personally found it disgusting. But that's just me.
As we were pulling up to the restaurant, I opened my phone and quickly sent a message to my grandmother. Call me if you have any problems, thanks again grandma! Hope everything is going great. Love you to the moon and back
Once the message delivered, I slid my phone into the pocket of my dress and got out from Lizzie's car. She had parked in one of the back private lots, and I recognized a few cars nearby.
"They rented out the restaurant, right?" I asked as she rounded the car. I sighed slightly as I looked her up and down. "Should I have worn heels? I look like a hobbit next to you."
"A cute hobbit, if it helps." Lizzie said. She smiled down at me and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. "And yeah, they did rent it out for us. Literally everyone is gonna be here. Did you see the paparazzi out front?"
"No, I was texting my grandma." I said.
"Good thing there is a wonderful back entrance. I am hungry as fuck but I don't think I could eat anything."
"I can. I was on the water all day." I took a few steps ahead and opened the door for her. "After you, my love."
She faked a gasp. "Oh my, how chivalrous. Tell me, madame, how am I ever to find a man as suiting as you are?"
"Well, I don't ever know, dahling, I suppose we will just have to run away and be wed." I fell into a British accent to match her fake one.
"How scandalous? What ever would Hollywood think?" She responded. I couldn't keep up the façade any longer and I broke out into laughter. Lizzie shook her head distastefully. "And this is why I am the actress and you are the writer."
"And I am a hundred percent okay with that." I said. I gave her a shove forward and we followed the directional arrow out towards the back patio of the restaurant.
When we stepped back outside my eyes caught sight of the lights hanging above and the candles flickering on the black matte tables.
"Jeez Louise," I muttered. "So fantaisie..."
Lizzie turned back to me. "Oui, oui, mademoiselle... have you not heard? Only the best for Marvel." She faked a French accent.
