The rest of December completely blew by. Between a mixture of holiday togetherness and excitement for the new year, the days before my twenty seventh birthday were dwindling down.

And when the day finally did come, I spent in lying in my bed with Sawyer while watching silly children movies and baking cupcakes and cookies. It was actually one of the best birthdays I had in a while.

Though now, my birthday party was this evening and I was looking forward to doing anything but.

"Okay, almost done." Lizzie said as she ran the razor alongside her underside of my thigh. "I can't believe you missed so much."

"It's hard to angle my body." I said and looked at Sawyer, who was sitting on my bed. She was already dressed up in her little star printed dress. Bird was lying next to her and she was running a doll over his face.

"You're all done." My best friend said and moved to stand up.

I let the skirt of the dress fall and walked over to my nightstand, quickly rubbing lotion down my legs and then onto my hands.

Lizzie went to the bathroom to put the razor back and when she returned, she started to collect her things. "Are you ready to go? How much you want to bet there's going to be a hundred people there?"

I groaned loudly. "There better not be. I told Robert no more than fifty. Come on Sawyer, it's time to go. And it's supposed to be kid friendly too."

My little girl jumped up from the bed and into my arms, laughing loudly. "I love a party."

"Oh, do you?" I asked and kissed her cheek.

"Yes!" She giggled. I shook my head as I laughed and then followed Lizzie out of my room. "Bye Bird, I will miss you." She yelled over my shoulder.

Lizzie started to talk to me about her new man - things were official - while we walked outside of my house. It was a little on the cooler side today, but it still wasn't unbearable.

Once Sawyer was in her seat, Lizzie and I split up and she got into her car and I got into mine.

The drive to Robert's house was as quick as it always was, and as I followed Lizzie's car up the driveway I couldn't help but gape at the amount of cars parked inside his property. There was definitely more than fifty people here already.

"I'm going to kill him." I said to Lizzie as she came up to my car. I worked quickly to get Sawyer out of her seat.

"I knew this was going to happen." Lizzie laughed looking around. "Well there's Chris' car, there's Anthony's. There's Joe and Anthony's. Oh, and look, there's Sebastian."
