That following Tuesday was the first day that I had woken up without an alarm shaking me from my dreams. I didn't have anything to do and I didn't plan on going to the gym today; so that left me staring up at the ceiling wondering why I was even awake in the first place?
Either way, the sun was shining through my bedroom window and I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep anymore. Besides, I was hungry as hell.
Before venturing from my bed, I grabbed my phone that I had left charging on my nightstand the night before. There were a few emails and social media notifications, but it was a text message from a contact I rarely saw that caught my attention.
I had been added into a group chat.
Robert Downey Jr Dinner at my house at 6pm don't be late.
Maeve um ok
Then privately, another message from Maeve read, what the fuck?
Instead of answering I sent an 'Ok' in the chat and then rolled over, calling Maeve directly. It rang three times before she picked up the phone.
"Sawyer, I'm telling you, stop crying and go wash your hands." Then a muffled cry and a second later, "I didn't realize that we were at a calling without warning level yet."
"Good morning to you, too." I said and closed my eyes.
"Morning voice. How sexy. Did you just get up? It's almost eleven."
"I slept in. I don't get to that often anymore." I grumbled. Even I could hear how deeper my voice was then usual. "How long have you been up for?"
"I have a four year old. I was woken up by her climbing into my bed with pissy underwear and crying at five in the morning."
I frowned slightly at the idea of how her morning started. "I'm sorry."
"It's okay. I'm dropping her off at my grandma's before I go to a meeting at one."
"Oh, right. I forgot about that. I hope it goes well." I said.
"I think it will. I got the approval to announce the title and Netflix is supposed to announce the title today too and some other production stuff. I don't know. I just have to go in to finalize my contract and then I think something about casting. They want us really involved with the show. Like, director level involved."
"That's really cool." I said as I closed my eyes. I was still exhausted. I just knew I could sleep more.
"Yeah - yes, you can watch the Barbie movie for the fifth time. So, as much as I love the attention, what's got you calling?"
"Is it too much to say that I just wanted to hear your voice?"
