It's been a day since I last heard from Maeve. I was starting to worry. She always answered texts. She always answered calls. She's never vanished like this. She's never just disappeared.

When I drove by her house the lights were off and the car was gone. And when I rang the bell, not even Bird was barking on the inside.

It was radio silence. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what to think. Of course, I ran through doubts of what had happened. Did I push too hard? Was dinner with the Downey's too surreal? Maybe she just changed her mind.

But that wasn't the Maeve I knew. That wasn't the relationship we had.

I had to leave LA in a day. I'd only be gone till late next week, but it was still a long time. I wanted to see her, to find out what happened, to see what I ddI wrong.

It was later that day when I finally had enough. After another call and one last text, I grabbed my car keys and went to Elizabeth's house. She had to know something.

"Sebastian, you shouldn't be here." Elizabeth said when she opened the door. I heard barking behind her.

"What's going on?" I asked her. "Where's Maeve?"

Elizabeth sighed and slowly stepped back, letting me into her home. Before I could even shut the door behind me, Bird was greeting me with excitement. I looked at the dog in confusion before looking back up at Elizabeth.

"I'm guessing she didn't tell you because she didn't want to. You haven't spoken to her?"

"No, she won't answer my texts. She won't answer my calls. What happened? Was it me?"

"Don't be that big headed. It has absolutely nothing to do with you." Elizabeth said. She looked down at Bird and ran her hand behind his ears. "Look, she found something out. Something... major."

"What is it? Please, Elizabeth..." I said. I would have been embarrassed about my desperation but I was too worried. "Is she safe?"

"Yes, she's safe. But I'm not allowed to say where she is. She made me promise."

"What should I do then? I mean, is she okay?"

"Honestly, Maeve can be pretty unpredictable at times. When something sets her off she snaps. And she snapped pretty hard. I don't know. She's not okay, not right now."

"Is Sawyer okay?"

"Yeah, she's fine."

"When did you see them last?"

"This morning. You really care for her?"

"Of course. I wouldn't be freaking out right now if I didn't."

Elizabeth smiled and laughed dryly. "I can't say what happened. She'll probably want to tell you herself. But you need to just give her some time and some space. I promise you this has nothing to do with you. She just needs Maeve time."

I nodded slowly and took a step back. "If you speak to her, can you just tell her that I'm here if she wants to talk? Or if she doesn't or if... if she needs anything?"

"I'll tell her."

"Thank you."
