Chapter 13

Taehyung wrapped his arms tightly around Junho and the young pup hid in his chest. They were playing and Junho went deep into the forest to hide and Taehyung came in search of him. He remembered all those warnings his brothers told him as he saw four wolves came out of the bushes.

Rogues.

Taehyung could sense their ranks from their scents. Two alphas and two betas. He backed away slowly as they surrounded him. "TaeTae..." Junho whimpered fearfully and Tae hugged him closer. "Shhh... it's okay." He calmed the younger pup who was scared.

Taehyung knew it wasn't okay. He knew they were in trouble. But he didn't want the wolfs sense that he is scared. He wanted to stand brave.

They all shifted into their human forms, stark naked, smirking smugly at him. Taehyung inaudibly gulped and prey to the moon goddess that someone would come here.

"An Omega..." One of the alphas purred. "Good he smells heavenly." He growled to his friends. "Post heat." One beta commented. "Too bad that we couldn't help you sweetheart."

"Get back." Taehyung said bravely but the wolves mocked him. "You got someone? They don't have to know. It could be our little secret." The alpha who spoke first said with fake sweetness in his voice.

"I don't see any mark on him." Another alpha said. He sniffed the air as if trying to inhale every possible scent. "Not claimed either." He smirked and dread filled Taehyung's mind. He tried to back away but tripped on his feet landing on the floor on his butt. He wrapped Junho closer, shielding him away.

"Then I don't see why we don't take him with us. My rut is soon and he could help." Taehyung felt disgusted at the way he spoke about him. He wasn't an object. "He is pretty. It's a sin to waste it."

"What about the child?" The beta who hasn't spoken till asked. "We can take him too." The alpha said. "Don't know when he might be useful."

The alpha closed in and Taehyung recoiled. "Don't come near me" He tried to sound bold but whimpered in fear. "Don't worry Omega, we'll show you heaven."

He closed his eyes tightly waiting for the disgusted hands touch him but it never came.

"What?" He heard them say. Taehyung's eyes wide opened as he heard a growl coming from the bushes behind him. He could see that the other wolves also heard that.

Out of the bushes another wolf stepped out. He was the biggest of the other four and his unique red fur gives him an intimidated look. He growled and stepped forward as the alphas unknowingly took a step back. Taehyung noticed the scent he had and his eyes widened. Chocolate and musk enveloped him and Taehyung couldn't believe how he didn't catch it. Out of the panic state, he didn't notice it. He was too shocked to respond as the wolf gave him a short glance before turning his face towards the rogues. The wolf came in front of Taehyung and clinging Junho taking a protective stand like to defend him.

He snarled when the others shifted back and ready to attack the newcomer. Taehyung felt his heart ramming in his chest as he fearfully watched the red wolf attacked the four rogues.

Yoongi bolted through the forest and he knew he was closing near Taehyung and Junho. The pup didn't have fully developed his scent and Yoongi hoped he was with Taehyung.

His wolf calmed a little bit as he saw Taehyung unharmed and Junho in his arms. But the omega didn't notice his brother's presence.

He felt Namjoon growling and he saw the rogues. Or rather their mutilated body. A red alpha stood in the middle as he fought the remaining rogue. In his feet lie the remains of other wolfs. The wolf seemed injured but that didn't stop him from killing the remaining rogue. Yoongi saw pure rage that made his eyes bright red and he was little intimidated. Yoongi could feel the immense dominance that reeked from his persona.

They could tell that the red alpha was weak. He had serious injuries and claw marks on his body. Junho managed to get himself out of Taehyung's grip who still hasn't noticed their presence and his eyes strained on the alpha.

Junho ran towards his dad and the orange wolf licked his son as if assuring him. Junho latched himself to Hoseok's leg. Yoongi and Namjoon took a step towards their brother only to be hear a growl coming from the injured wolf who shielded Taehyung behind him. Yoongi snarled at the action and he heard Namjoon doing the same. He knows that this wolf had killed off the rogues and protected his brother but he can't be sure that he is a threat himself.

Yoongi pounced on the wolf, scratching him in the process. The wolf was really tired still managed to shake off Yoongi. But the strength had finally drained off him as he collapsed on the floor, to weak to move. As Namjoon took another step towards Taehyung to their surprise the red alpha again stood up trying to defend Taehyung even if he was dying in the process.

Yoongi felt his wolf boiling in anger as the unknown alpha could perhaps cause harm to his little brother and he again attacked the red wolf. He bit his neck and the red wolf fell on his knees now completely worn out. Yoongi's wolf tried to resort his dominance but the red wolf was more stubborn. He refused to bow down and Yoongi was about to pounce on him and kill him.

"Hyung don't." Taehyung now managed to get on his feet and lunged forward standing between him and the injured wolf. "Please don't kill him."

Yoongi halted in his tracks at his brother's actions. Taehyung now had turned towards the red wolf. Yoongi watched in pure shock as his brother held the alpha's head in his arms. The red wolf was now falling unconscious but he tried his maximum to keep his eyes open and locking them with Taehyung's.

Namjoon whined as if asking Taehyung the reason. They were stunned as they as Taehyung's eyes shining blue as he ran his fingers through the red fur.

"He's my mate."

a/n: The mate is here. I was looking forward to write this chapter since i planned the whole thing.

I have updated five chaps today beacuse i won't be able to update something for two weeks tops. Our state has finally flattened the COVID affected curve and postponed exams are approaching next week. I haven't studied anything. So i won't be updating for a awhile, maybe till the end of the month.
