Chapter 21

"Don't let out down your guard even for a minute." Yoongi said sternly to the alphas and betas. "Other packs have also sent some of their members for the defense. Work with them and protect our pack."

He dismissed them returning to Hoseok who was waiting for him. The spring festival has just begun as the sun reached the horizon, promising a long night of celebration. All the presented members of every pack have arrived hoping to find their mate.

"This is going to be a long night." Hoseok said gazing at the crowd who was mingling with each other, laughing and celebrating. "Tell me about it." Yoongi muttered. "I hope there won't be any complications."

They saw Namjoon and Jeongguk coming towards them and Yoongi noticed that the young alpha was looking quite nervous.

"Don't you have to mingle with other wolves or something?" Hoseok asked as the head alpha reached closer. "I do. But apparently Jeongguk here has to say something." Namjoon said and Yoongi had already idea about what he has to say.

Hoseok too had caught the hint. "I'll be with Jin hyung. He will need help." He said with a sly smile leaving the three alphas alone. The two eldest now completely shifting their attention towards the younger who now is feeling like the weight of the entire world is on him.

"So Jeongguk..." Namjoon said with a small smile. Yoongi amusedly watched the black head taking deep breaths trying to calm himself.

"I know that you have stuff to do Namjoon hyung." Jeongguk began. "So do you Yoongi hyung. I don't want to waste much time."

Yoongi felt bad for the kid but he was enjoying the whole moment. "I just want to ask permission for courting your brother, Taehyung." He managed to say out not at all surprising the two alphas.

"I know, I have just joined the pack and you don't know me well but I give you my word that I will protect Taehyung with all my heart. I will provide for him and I'll try my best to keep him happy." Jeongguk said with complete honesty and Yoongi could see that in his eyes.

"So..."

"I give you my permission." Namjoon was taken aback hearing Yoongi speaking out. He always had thought that in a situation like this he will be the one who would speak up first. Jeongguk too was in same condition. He still had few more things for Yoongi to make him agree.

And Yoongi, he clearly had made up his mind. To be honest he wasn't on board of this whole mate thing after seeing the immense power his brother's mate has. True bloods are rare and powerful and they could cause serious harm if they wish. Yoongi had feared for his brother, for what Jeongguk could do. He still is. But a few days after watching him Yoongi had realized that Jeongguk was different. He could still see the emotions in the young alpha that stood him apart from anyone he knew. He sometimes wondered that if Jeongguk was the same powerful being that could overpower everyone in the pack. Yoongi would not definitely say it aloud but he has developed a soft spot on the kid.

"Really." Jeongguk's eyes comically widened at hearing this. He was unable to say anything else from the shock. "You don't want to?" Yoongi replied.

"I mean yes of course." He quickly corrected himself.

"Wow hyung." Namjoon said in awe. "Anyway Jeongguk." He said collecting himself. "I also give you my permission to court my brother. I trust you."

He turned towards Yoongi beaming at him. "Stop that shit Joon, I know what you are thinking." Yoongi groaned.

"But hyung." Namjoon whined. "I have to tell this to everyone."

"If Hoseok say something about this I'm going to kill you." Namjoon held up his hand in defensive. "If that is all." He said. 'I am afraid that I have to leave you both now. I have duties to mingle with others." He grumbled.
