"gOOD MORNING!!"
the step-brothers turned their heads from the dish they were cooking to the newly awaken jaemin who strangely was energetic early in the morning.
"yah! are you sure you're awake?" renjun rose an eyebrow at jaemin before looking at the hou gou he was cooking with chenle.
speaking of his little brother, chenle walked towards jaemin who looked like he didn't hear what renjun just asked and was just smiling like an idiot while standing in the middle of their living room.
"hyung,"
the said hyung looked at him and gave him the brightest smile he could ever give. "oh hello there, my lele. a very good morning to you!" he pinched chenle's cheeks that made the younger pout and whine.
"hyung~ you're not telling renjun hyung, right?" the chinese whispered after leaning closer to jaemin.
"tell renjun what?"jaemin whispered back, blinking for a few times, before nodding his head as he got what chenle was talking about. "ahh, about you jisu-- mhm!!" the younger's quickly covered his mouth before he could say the other boy's name.
"hyung! shh! renjun hyung might hear you!"
"why? what should i hear?"
chenle's cute small eyes grew wide when he heard renjun's voice behind them.
"d-did you h-hear anything?" chenle showed his brother a cute cheeky smile, praying to gods that renjun didn't hear anything.
to his luck, renjun shook his head and walked to the table beside them and get his phone. "no, i just heard my name." he stood up straight before staring back at the two; chenle who was fidgeting around, playing with his hands and jaemin who was still smiling like an idiot. renjun was afraid his lips would stretch all over. "so, what should i hear?"
minutes had passed and renjun still didn't get an answer from his question and was about to ask again when his best friend spoke up. "it's nothing. we're just planning a surprise, right chenle?"
the said boy nodded his head like those dog figurines inside the car. "right! a s-surprise for renjun ge!" and showed another cheeky smile.
"surprise? my birthday already passed though. it's jaemin's birthday that is approaching." renjun just sighed at the two and shook his head. "anyways, let's just eat. chenle and i cooked hou gou, we should eat now before it gets cold."
just like how robots being programmed, chenle went to the kitchen to set up the table after renjun told him to do so.
renjun and jaemin were left in the living room. "my birthday? right. it's around the corner, i didn't notice."
