Fear of going to the doctors office was nothing compared to what had happened in the last few days and nights. With voices and bad dreams. Wanting to take my life... all this negativity within my heart and mind. I just needed answers. That's what a detective needs, right?!
I arrived unknowing of the consequences. I felt maybe something could help me here. They're professionals. They know what can happen to the human body, so someone can help me understand what's happening within my head damn it!
"Sebastian Wonders?"
"Yes! Right here doctor!"
"Great! Come inside and talk to you there."
The doctor was old. He had a white moustache connected with his beard with some grey hairs here and there. As well as white and grey hair. He seemed like a happy man.
"So, what seems to be the problem?"
"I'm just going to be real honest with you Doc. I'm hearing voices from every kind of sound imaginable. Animal noises, the noises of cars, doors, coughs, sneezes. Any noise you can think of. Heck, even my alarm clock. It's driving me mad. Am I...
insane Doc?""Well, it seems you've had quite the struggle lately. Um, no. You're not quite insane. Although, you would need to speak to a professional that deals with psychological support. All I can do is check ups on psychical problems. The mind is complex, and we have professionals in that line of expertise. I can transfer you offer to one now."
"Thank you doctor."
Moments gone by. Another flooding of my mind, sinking to confusion.
A clock ticking again.
Why are there so many damn clocks?"Tick-Tock, Tick-Tick, Don't-Talk, Don't-Talk"
"Don't talk?"
"Sorry Sebastian?"
"Oh, nothing. I was daydreaming."
"Righto! Well, you're in for some good news. Our professional psychologist is available right now. Just take the elevator to the third floor and someone will be there with you shortly."
The doctor left the room, and I waited for a little while longer to contemplate my decision on coming here.
"Don't talk"
"Why would I not talk? I'm trying to get rid of you. You're not real."
"We are real"
"Then why can't I see you?"
I left the room to make my way to the elevator.
On my way there I couldn't help but notice the rooms filled with sick people. Was this a foreshadowing? For what will happen to me?
I thought to myself.
I pressed the button for the third floor.
The ride up was quite. This was good.I walked out confidently, awaiting the psychologist 'patiently' and wondered about the worst possible situation I would be in.
Then there it was, my reward for waiting...
"Hello Sebastian! My name is Claire. I'll be your psychologist. Nice to meet you!"
Claire seemed excited and happy. Is she like this to everyone she meets? Maybe she's belittling me because I'm sick... no... don't think like that. I love that energy. Loving and caring. I respect her and her soul.
"Nice to meet you Claire, since you already know my name... I would like to talk to you about what's been happening with me."
"Of course! Follow me please."
We walked into her office
Clair had short blonde hair, grown to her shoulders. Pale white skin, and bright blue eyes. She was beautiful.
"So! What's been happening?"
"It's a lot to go into..."
"We will have multiple sessions. Whenever you feel you've got what you needed here."
"Give me a week. 7 days. I still need to run on a lead I got recently. I cannot postpone this further than I already have."
"Very well! We can begin our first session now if you would like?"
"Yeah, I've got the time. That would be great. Thank you doctor."
...so please don't give in.
