Sirius, Benjy, Alastor, Molly, Arthur and Dumbledore return back to the cottage hours later having successfully taken down the Death Eaters and have placed the witches and wizards in safety. Dumbledore entered the door to see James on the floor, the children in his arms and tears streaming down his cheeks. "James, what's happened?" He said softly as he approached him, James looked up at Dumbledore and opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. His eyes shot over to Sirius who had now walked through the door. He had a small cut across his cheek but a large smile across his face. "Where's Silver?" James shook his head, another tear falling down his face.
"I'm going to kill him! I'm going to kill him!" Sirius shouted as he paced around the room. Molly had collapsed on the sofa in a storm of tears and cries with Arthur soothing her. Benjy and Alastor had gone in search of Severus and Silvers body. "Sirius, calm down. Take a seat and let it sink in for a moment, you need to sit down for a minute." Sirius shook his head and grabbed his wand, gripping it tightly. "She's all I had, her and that baby. They were the best things that even happened to me and now their gone. What am I meant to do? How am I meant to carry on? Just pretending like she wasn't the love of my life and now she's dead? I can't do that!" Sirius shouted his wand falling from his hand as he sunk to his knees, the tears that had been stinging his eyes now flowing freely down his face.
His chin trembled as if he was a small child. Sirius breathed heavier than he'd ever had before, gasping for air that simply wasn't there. His throat burned forming a silent scream. He stood and stumbled out the door, by this point he'd lost all remnants of where he was. His sharp knees dug into the earth as he hit the ground, his hands unsteady as they silently clawed at the dirt. He opened his mouth, but not a sound came out, his head violently quivering as if there was a drill to the back of his skull. His eyes saw nothing; they lost all sight of what is and what could have been. His mouth opened, an eternal silenced scream, saliva dripping from behind his teeth and onto the ground, stained with the memory of those he ever loved.
James came rushing out with Dumbledore behind him. They took a seat either side of him and helped Sirius steady himself. "James, they're gone. Both of them. Gone. I can't do it. I can't just move on. I needed her. I needed them both." He whimpered, James pulled him into a hug and allowed Sirius to sob on his shoulder. Dumbledore placed a hand on the boys shoulder and nodded silently. "Let's go back to the house, Benjy and Alastor have gone to inform the others. James, Lily's on her way, she doesn't know yet." James nodded and help Sirius up leading him to the house. They took Sirius upstairs and lead him down on his bed. Dumbledore, James and the Weasleys stayed downstairs to await the arrival of Lily.
A knock could be heard from the front door, Arthur opened it to reveal a chirpy red headed girl. "Hi Arthur, glad to see you're safe. How was the mission?" Her face fell when seeing his red eyes and tear stained cheeks. She walked in past him into the living room to see a distraught looking Molly, James and Dumbledore. "What the hells happened?" She demanded worriedly, Dumbledore guided her to sit down and took a deep breath.
"She's gone." Sirius said emotionlessly from the stairs. The others turned around to see him sat on the top step, looking down at them all. "What does he mean gone?" She asked confused turning to James. "She's dead, she's gone, both of them." He said, this time his voice cracking and wavering. Lily shook her head as tears began to form in her eyes. "No! She can't be. Silver didn't even go on the mission, she was told to stay here." Dumbledore nodded and stood from his seat to walk closer to Lily, who had now jumped to her feet. "The Death Eaters had a secret plan to break into the house and get Silver as she was the reason so many of their men died the night of Ivys accident."
