"Ok, so the theme for the Spring Ball is Black Tie Ball. Meaning all girls must wear ball gowns and all boys must wear suits, like the muggles." Tillie spoke excitedly as her, Ivy, Silver, Sirius, James, Peter and Remus were making their way down to Hogsmeade. Silver rolled her eyes and giggled, "Remus, for Merlin's sake, please make sure Sirius gets a nice suit." Sirius gasped dramatically at her words and clutched his chest. "I happen to think my taste in suits are quite exquisite." Sirius stuck his nose up and strutted out in front as if walking on a catwalk and ended it with a pose. "So are we just going to pretend that you didn't wear a bright orange suit to the last Black family party?" Silver giggled.
"Yeah, I'll stop him from getting a hideous suit." Remus chuckled as he swung his arm around Ivy's shoulders. "Okay, as much as we love you boys, you've got to leave now so we can surprise you with how hot we're going to look in our dresses." Ivy said as she kissed Remus on the cheek. Sirius pressed a kiss on Silver forehead and followed after Remus and Peter, who were looking into a suit shop window. James pulled Silver into a quick hug before racing after them, "And no butterbeer or Zonkos until you've all found suits!" Silver called after them, resulting in all the girls breaking out into giggles.
"Back to business, there's a dress shop at the end of this road." Tillie said as she read through the notes that she had been planning since Regulus asked her to the ball. The other girls nodded and followed her until they were outside of a large brick building that was painted white. A black sign was hung above a red door, with golden writing spelling out:
ELEGANT EVENING GOWNS
Tillie pushed the door open and walked up to the front desk. "Appointment name, please?" A tall witch with blonde curled hair flowing down her back asked as she looked up from the computer she was typing on. "Marauders." She said, grinning back at the girls. The woman nodded and gestured for the three girls to take a seat on the white sofa on the left of the reception.
About ten minutes later a brunette lady with straight hair and jade green eyes walked down the stairs and approached the girls. "Hello ladies, my name is Rachel and I'm going to be your personal shopper today. To start with, what are each of your names and what colour do each of you like in a ball gown?" She looked around the group taking a seat on the wooden chair to the side of the sofa. "I'm Tillie and I quite like the idea of having a baby pink dress."The lady nodded and began writing notes on a piece of parchment with a perfectly white quill. "I'm Ivy and I like dark purple, maybe." Rachel smiled as she copied down the next bit of information. "I'm Silver and if I'm honest, I'm not sure what colour I like." The woman put down her parchment and quill, looking up to Silver. "Not a problem, that's what I'm here for." She smiled as she stood up and placed the chair back in its place, "Who wants to go first?"
After trying on around five dresses Tillie walked out of the changing rooms with a delicate pink off-the-shoulder ball gown with long, tulle sleeves and turquoise flower details. Ivy and Silver stood from their seat with their mouths hanging wide open as they stared at the girl before them. "This is my dress." She beamed at the shopping assistant, who nodded smilingly and wrote down the dress number. Next, Ivy followed the woman and tried on several dresses which weren't for her until she found a deep plum coloured dress with turquoise and gold detailing around the neckline and waist. The gown made of soft, satiny fabric, long and loose.
Finally, it was Silvers turn. She followed Rachel into the backroom where all the dresses were stored. There were hundreds of rack filled with dresses of every colour imaginable. The two got to searching around the room, she tried on dress after dress but she liked none of them. "It's hopeless, there's no dress for me." She sighed, Rachel chuckled, picking up her wand and walked away leaving the girl sitting in the middle of the room. She returned shortly with a stunning red ball gown. When trying it on, it was a perfect fit and hugged Silvers curves wonderfully. She was a picture snatched from a magazine, looking absolutely beautiful and picturesque. It had a deep red bodice and flowed down into a lighter, cherry red. Ivy and Tillie both agreed that it was a dress made for her.
