Eventually the group caught up with me and Patton as soon as we made it to the front line. Roman paid for Virgil, while I paid for Lydia and Patton. Though he continuously attempted to talk me out of it, I wasn't going to. I simply put the wristband around his wrist.

We then began to make our way into the actual observatory. All the lights were off and the only light that illuminated the room were the stars on the ceiling, the planets hanging down, and the countless exhibits. I felt myself smile and couldn't wait to see every exhibit.

"Well, what are we all standing around for? We have places to be, things to learn!" I announced, making my way to the first exhibit. Patton was the first one to catch up with me, followed by Lydia, and then Roman and Virgil.

"So what is this one about--" I interrupted Virgil before he got a chance to finish.

"It's explaining the most popular theory on how the universe came to be; The Big Bang."

"Like the tv show?" Roman asked.

I shook my head. "While that show is interesting, no. It states that a long time ago, roughly 13.7 billion years, the universe just..exploded and created matter! Protons, neutrons, and electrons came together to form atoms and elements which then came together to form compounds and then tiny specks of dust and gases until--!"

I stopped explaining once I noticed everyone looking at me. Roman and Virgil were surprised, Lydia was just smirking and mouthed 'nerd' to me. Patton was staring at me too. Partly with surprise but also with a hint of something I couldn't quite surprise. Even some people beside us looked at me. I cleared my throat and I felt myself blush, embarrassed.

"So, yeah. Explosions and..stuff." I mumbled, trying to hide in the collar of my turtle neck.

"Wow." Roman said simply.

Everyone soon lost interest once I was quiet again. Though I felt a tug on my sleeve. I looked down at Patton, who was looking eagerly up at me. "Until what?"

"Pardon?"

"W-Well, you said it formed dust and gases, but what then?"

I looked at him, a bit confused. "You..really want to hear me explain the rest?"

He nodded and smiled.

"The rest of what I would've explained is quite long. Are you certain?"

He nodded again.

"Ok..well.." I said as I began to explain the rest of my lecture to Patton. I spoke more quietly this time as to not disturb anyone else in the group or the entire building. We kept moving from exhibit to exhibit. Every time Patton asked me to explain it in my own words, even though there was an explanation at every exhibit on the wall.

Most of the topics were simple things that children learn about in fifth grade or so. I was quite sure Patton knew most of what I was explaining, because he asked some intelligent questions. Though I can't say that I minded. I'd never miss an opportunity to discuss science, or..talk to Patton.

Once we ate lunch in the cafeteria, we decided to end our stay at the observatory by going to a large theatre. Only the documentary was on the ceiling and we had to look up. Just like we'd have to look up in space. Needless to say, I was quite thrilled.

We entered and sat down in an orderly fashion. First Virgil, then Roman, then Lydia, then Patton, and finally myself. We were pretty early, so that gave us some time to talk. Lydia was getting along exceptionally well with Roman and Virgil. They were laughing about something I couldn't quite make out. Patton and I just talked quietly with each other. First about science and space, but then Patton asked me a random question.

"Hey, Lo?"

"Yes, Patton?"

"What would you do if...you really wanted something. Like, more than anything. B-But you couldn't have it because you already had something, but it..it didn't make you as happy as what you want."

I raised an eyebrow. One thing I've observed about Patton is that though he will hang out or converse with you, there is always something else going on in the back of his mind. As if he's, figuratively, off in his own little world.

As if on cue, he began rambling. I-I'm sorry it was stupid to ask we were literally discussing gravity and then I decided to change the subject as if it didn't matter that kinda sucked of me I'm sorry it won't happen again I--"

"Patton, stop apologizing."

He still didn't quite get what I was saying.

"Oh right sorry I know I keep doing it even though you constantly tell me not too and I'm sorry--"

"Patton. Listen and process the words coming out of my mouth. Alright?"

He nodded.

"You. Don't. Need. To. Apologize. For. Anything. I don't quite understand why you have a mentality where you have to, but this is me reminding you that not everything you do is cruel or diabolical or annoying. You're just being you, and that's what I love most about you. Don't ever apologize for being yourself. Promise me that."

His face turned pink as he smiled a bit, looking away from me. Before I could press the issue further, the lights began to dim, indicating that the show was about to start. However, I quickly answered Patton's question before it began.

"If it made you happier, I'd want you to choose the new 'thing.'"

"Why?" He whispered.

I simply shrugged. "I want you to be happy."

And with that we both looked up at the ceiling as a beautiful array of stars and galaxies slowly moved across the ceiling. I smiled in awe. I've been here before with my family, but with Patton it was different.

Without thinking, I reached to put my hand in Patton's. I didn't quite realize it until Patton looked down at me. I looked back at him, confused as to why he wasn't looking at the beautiful depictions of Jupiter. Until I looked down and saw our hands linked.

I quickly moved my hand in my lap and quietly apologized to him. He didn't say anything. Didn't move. Just stared at me. I looked over to the others to see if they were noticing Patton's odd behavior, but they were all looking up. I focused back on Patton who was still looking at me.

I was about to ask him if he was alright, but then he moved forward, put his hand on my chest, and kissed me. I was surprised, but I didn't waste any time, and before I knew it I was kissing him back. I gently cupped his head in my hands as we kissed for a few more sweet seconds.

While I was confused as to what exactly was going on or what I felt, I didn't even think about figuring it out now. All I know is that I have a strong desire for Patton.
